3 Circles
Over the past few Wednesdays we have been talking about the 3 Circles.
For people that couldn’t attend due to prior engagements or just could not come out, we will be doing a small sermon series on it.
This morning we will be jumping through Genesis Chapters 1 and 2. I don’t expect everyone to be able to turn to scripture while I go through, but we will have it on the screens as well as in the bulletin for everyone.
I invite you guys to listen and then go home and meditate on these scriptures.
However I want to start in Matthew first.
Jesus taught us many valuable lessons.
He gave us a lot of really great principles by which to live.
Everything Jesus did and said is important and we should make it our goal to be as familiar as possible with Him and His teaching.
However, if last words are important, then certainly Jesus’ final instructions to His disciples must weigh heavily on our hearts and minds.
We are on a mission
The question to ask yourself this morning is How are you doing on that mission?
Are you doing so great that everyone is listening to you? Are you failing because you haven’t really thought about the mission?
We all have a vision in our lives right.
When you were a kid you said
When I grow up, I want to be..........
Now when you become a Christian that vision starts to change slightly.
We added to it.
All believers are called to be faithful gospel witnesses to the places we live, work and play.
We can’t leave it to the “professionals.”
There aren’t enough of us.
[Do some math for them, as in you are one pastor in a town of 50,000—how is one person going to reach 50,000 people or you are 10 pastors in a city of 1 million.
How are 10 pastors going to reach 1 million people—that’s one person reaching 100,000 people.
We need everyone in the game.
We need 10,000 believers reaching five people each or 100,000 believers reaching 10 people each.]
Here is something very important to remember.
Scripture says God used “Uneducated, common men”
These people didnt go to seminary, they didnt go to school.
Just because you didnt go to seminary, doesnt mean you can not spread the Gospel.
We need to be outposts
We have to see ourselves as outposts of God’s kingdom.
We are God’s representatives living in enemy territory.
The statistics prove that we are living in enemy territory.
There are more who don’t believe than those of us who do believe.
So our homes have to be gospel outposts in our neighborhoods.
Our desks have to be gospel outposts in our schools or offices.
We have to be gospel outposts when we’re out and about in the community—at the grocery store, the ballpark or the gym.
You are sitting going we know this Erich so what does this have to do with 3 circles.
This right here talks about the very first circle
The very first circle is God’s Design
Slide with 1st circle: God’s Design
God’s Design
God has a design for each and every one of us.
There is 3 important bullet points we need to remember
God created us and He loves us
God designed the world and everything in it.
He created everything as it was meant to be and it was good
He created humans in His image—the pinnacle of His creation.
He called us very good.
2. God has a design for every aspect of our lives
Our Gender Identity
Our Families
Our work life
Our rest life
Our marriages
In all these areas God showed us just in the very beginning of the bible how much He has designed for our lives
3. God designed us for relationship with Him
He created us to have unbroken communion with Him.
He walked with us and talked with us.
However even though sin came into the world this unbroken communion be restored through the Gospel
Sin = Brokenness
Gospel = repentence
And then we recover and pursue
(Final circles)
Next week we are going to talk more about the brokenness.
I invite people to please pray, ask God to lead them back to His design, We are all sinners, we all screw up, God knows this However, we can alway go back to Him.
