Sanctification refers to being sanctified or holy.
Objects and animals are holy or sanctified when they are set apart for God’s purposes.
God’s people are to progressively grow in holiness until the Day of the Lord, at which point all believers will be completely sanctified.
12 Therefore I exhort you, brothers, through the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And do not be conformed to this age, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, so that you may approve what is the good and well-pleasing and perfect will of God.
What does it mean to present our bodies as a living sacrifice?
We examine all areas of our life and try and make sure we are honoring God in them.
Jesus cannot just be our savior but He must also be our Lord, thus in order to know we truly belong to Him we ought to be consistently trying to repent of our old sins and offering more and more of ourselves to God.
What are some current things in our world that we don’t need to conform to?
Sexual Sin, Transgenderism, Abortion, Easy-Believism, and the idea that you can believe whatever you want about God.
Why does God care about the renewal of our mind?
The Holy Spirit resides in our mind, thus as we grow in knowledge of the Lord, the Spirit moves in us, convicting us of our sin, and granting us a deeper love for God.
