it's always fun when when you come to a passage and when you read it at the beginning of the week in preparation, just thinking of it, you just get really excited and that was this week and in right from the get-go and Mike, I can't wait for Sunday.
And the truth is I I couldn't wait not because of declaring this truth and it's an amazing truth.
You probably already read it.
I couldn't wait to gather together with a body of Christ and and worship our great God and savior together.
I will tell you that is one of the greatest joys of a Sunday morning for me.
and as much as I love the, the song in the worship, I do that throughout the week already.
I mean and it's it's wonderful as much as I love coming to God's word and and coming around and being able to declare that.
I am listen to some great expositors of the truth, even throughout the week on on podcast and different things like that.
But there's nothing during the week that can substitute with coming together.
As the family of God, there's nothing that can substitute of seeing another Believers face and smile, or maybe they're discouraged look and being able to build up someone else in the body.
That greeting of one another.
So, I have been looking forward all week long to Sunday morning, and I am so glad to be here with you.
And I am so glad that we get to look at this portion of Peter today, because as we do, I, I believe it is one of the most practical things you, and I can Implement into our lives.
Last week as we looked at our passage in in chapter 4, we we saw together that God went to a great extent.
For your salvation in mine.
In the word that he is doing an in Peter was saying, they'll get ready Church move forward because let people watch you, let him be amazed.
And as you are doing, by the way, you need to expect some resistance.
It's going to be difficult and you're going to need perseverance, but regardless.
Keep your eyes on the goal.
That was a wonderful passage, wasn't it?
And I don't know about you, I am still in Courage and challenge by it by those words that that God has given us through the letter that Peter wrote.
And those words are just as applicable to the church today, as it was in Peter's time.
If not, maybe more.
So
But this morning, as we are moving forward in in perseverance Peter.
Continues his challenge.
And he gives us some very practical ways that you and I can engage in this Christian Life.
I like practical things.
Practical things are simple to understand simple to implement.
Are they not?
And Peter is a fisherman.
Remember in, he's he's going to give us ways to implement these things in our Christian walk in a practical way.
But as he does, so, Gives challenging the church as a whole.
I want you to understand.
Peter is challenging the church as a whole you and I Need to come to the point in our life and our Christian walk.
The sooner, the better, by the way, that we understand.
That.
We are not.
The function.
Apart from one another.
We are not intended to be some super Christian out there, saving the world on her own.
That's not how God intended it.
If a god left his church, Not a bunch of little super Christians.
In fact, I don't know about you but there's very few days I've ever felt like a super Christian.
Brother quite the opposite.
where I have this desire to run with everything I have and it seems like I am wearing lead-filled shoes as I run.
But as I do so with the church, it's like some others come and pick me up and we run faster and farther.
And that's what Peter is talking about here.
Jesus Christ.
Has called his body.
His bribe notice, those are singular.
Free purpose.
And each and every one of us are to contribute.
In that purpose and that goal Peter as he addresses this in our passage the day does a beautiful job of of describing this and challenging us with this.
I'd encourage you to turn in your Bibles to 1st, Peter chapter 4, and we're going to look as a verses 7 through 11.
Honestly, I could probably and I should be able to just read this and say now, let's do it.
This mess and some of your going, that sounds good.
For those that get it immediately, and, and feel.
They have no need to look into this further, you would can be dismissed after we read.
For those of us that need a little clarification on how to do some of these very simple, practical things, I'd encourage you to stay if it's for no other reason.
When we are finished to encourage and build up the body of Christ, here we go.
Theater in verse 7 says, the end of all things is near therefore,
B and sound, judgment and sober spirit for the purpose of prayer, above all keep fervent.
In your love for one another because love covers a multitude of sins.
Be hospitable to one another without complaints.
As each one has received a special gift, employ it in serving one another as good stewards of the manifold grace of God, whoever speaks is to do.
So is one, who is speaking, the utterances of God whoever serves as to do, so is one who is serving by the strength which God supplies so that
In all things, God may be glorified through Jesus Christ to whom belongs the glory, the Dominion forever and ever, amen.
Dismissed.
Now, let's look at these things, just a little closer.
First of all, Peter begins this.
This, this portion here with an urgency.
There is an urgency that is expressed and I love how how Peter word that he just simply says the end of all time.
Things is near Peter does not in in true Peter fashion, get into the nuts and bolts of win and how he doesn't talk about the Antichrist, he doesn't talk about the tribulation.
He doesn't do any of that.
You just said, guys, it's closed.
Start doing something.
That's the jet translation right there.
Okay.
That's basically it.
He says God Christ is coming back.
And he is excited about it.
You can't wait.
I mean, imagine the excitement that should Rouse within our souls, and our spirits, and just our overall demeanor, when we remind each other, that Jesus is coming back soon.
Church.
This is something to Rejoice about.
Some of your going.
This is 2,000 years later.
Almost I know her closer.
Is it a great?
I am so excited about this in and Peter is mentioned this numerous times throughout his letter.
He is excited.
And as a part of the bride of Christ, that's the bridegroom is coming.
And there's an urgency.
There's an urgency is imminent.
That is a word that means that any time, any moment, it could happen.
There's nothing that has to happen before.
Jesus Christ comes back and gathers to him.
Sell his bride, his church.
We are caught up with him.
