The Bible: Narrative of His glory

Presentation

Present two things: the narrative of His glory and four important aspects of it:
1-God gives a narrative of how the history of the heavens and the earth declare His glory in the Torah:
From:
Genesis to Deuteronomy
Genesis: From the Beginning
Exodus: These are the names
Leviticus: Adonai called
Numbers: In the Wilderness
Deuteronomy: These are the words Moses spoke
From the beginning, the names that Adonai called in the wilderness as per the words Moses spoke.
Genesis is the umbrella of the narrative; the topic sentence; the general statement.
2- 4 important important aspects of the narrative in Genesis
God’s role
Concept of 1-2-1
Baptism and Resurrection and fruit
At His appointed time
Genesis 1:1–5 NKJV
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light. And God saw the light, that it was good; and God divided the light from the darkness. God called the light Day, and the darkness He called Night. So the evening and the morning were the first day.
GOD’S ROLES
God (elohim)
The Holy Spirit (ruah)
Light (Jeshua)
Genesis 1:1 NKJV
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
heavens
Windows of Heaven
and
the earth
Genesis 1:2 NKJV
The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.
Genesis 1:3 NKJV
Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light.
Jayay
Eternal being
Has always existed
Spoken by God- not into existance as He is not a created being; but called in to do something
BE SET APART FROM DARKNESS
TO BE DISTINGUISHED FROM DARKNESS
Genesis 1:4 NKJV
And God saw the light, that it was good; and God divided the light from the darkness.
Genesis 1:5 NKJV
God called the light Day, and the darkness He called Night. So the evening and the morning were the first day.
DAY ONE
CONCEPT OF 1-2-1
Genesis 1:6–10 NKJV
Then God said, “Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.” Thus God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament; and it was so. And God called the firmament Heaven. So the evening and the morning were the second day. Then God said, “Let the waters under the heavens be gathered together into one place, and let the dry land appear”; and it was so. And God called the dry land Earth, and the gathering together of the waters He called Seas. And God saw that it was good.
God devided the waters from the waters to gather waters (seas)
Hamayim
Waters below
Mayim
Waters above
Genesis 1:9 NKJV
Then God said, “Let the waters under the heavens be gathered together into one place, and let the dry land appear”; and it was so.
The= the specific waters below
without the: expanse - something that is spread out - w/o limits
Matthew 6:9–10 NKJV
In this manner, therefore, pray: Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven.
The reflexion of heaven on earth was interrupted by the rebellion of man in the garden. The glory of God was not longer reflected on the earth
3- Baptism and Resurrection
In the waters there is also a baptism (mikvah)
1 Corinthians 10:1–4 NKJV
Moreover, brethren, I do not want you to be unaware that all our fathers were under the cloud, all passed through the sea, all were baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea, all ate the same spiritual food, and all drank the same spiritual drink. For they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them, and that Rock was Christ.
The concept of salvation by baptism is Genesis also found here
The first mention of Salvation (Jeshua) is found in Genesis as well.
Genesis 49:18 NKJV
I have waited for your salvation, O Lord!
This is the first mention of the name Jeshua:
Jeshua - Salvation
It isn’t until all this has happened that God calls it good
Genesis 1:10 NKJV
And God called the dry land Earth, and the gathering together of the waters He called Seas. And God saw that it was good.
Genesis 1:11–12 NKJV
Then God said, “Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb that yields seed, and the fruit tree that yields fruit according to its kind, whose seed is in itself, on the earth”; and it was so. And the earth brought forth grass, the herb that yields seed according to its kind, and the tree that yields fruit, whose seed is in itself according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.
The concept of resurrection is here
Bring forth
In verse 11 (DASHA)
Means: to cause to sprout
Genesis 1:11 (NKJV)
Then God said, “Let the earth bring forth (dasha - cause to sprout) grass, the herb that yields seed, and the fruit tree that yields fruit according to its kind, whose seed is in itself, on the earth”; and it was so.
Bring forth in verse 12
To come out or exit
To produce
Genesis 1:12 (NKJV)
And the earth brought forth ( yatza = come out / exit- produce ) grass, the herb that yields seed according to its kind, and the tree that yields fruit, whose seed is in itself according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.
This is only the concept of resurrection as we complete the whole segment:
Genesis 1:11–13 (NKJV)
Then God said, “Let the earth bring forth (dasha - cause to sprout) , the herb that yields seed, and the fruit tree that yields fruit according to its kind, whose seed is in itself, on the earth”; and it was so.
And the earth brought forth ( yatza = come out / exit- produce ), the herb that yields seed according to its kind, and the tree that yields fruit, whose seed is in itself according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.
So the evening and the morning were the third day.
Until day 3 there is no physical life
living entities were created on day 3
Shadowing picture of resurrection
Life springing forth from where there is no life
Associated with number 3
This is a thematic study
Taught through agricultural pictures
Let’s consider
“life springing from desolation and barrennes”
Job 38:26–27 NKJV
To cause it to rain on a land where there is no one, A wilderness in which there is no man; To satisfy the desolate waste, And cause to spring forth the growth of tender grass?
Life from the dead
No life in barrenness
Agricultural picture
Job 14:7 NKJV
“For there is hope for a tree, If it is cut down, that it will sprout again, And that its tender shoots will not cease.
Life after death
Resurrection first acknowledgement is in Exodus Chapter 15- for another class
The concept of Seed and Fruits is first mentioned here
Galatians 3:16 NKJV
Now to Abraham and his Seed were the promises made. He does not say, “And to seeds,” as of many, but as of one, “And to your Seed,” who is Christ.
1 Corinthians 15:20 NKJV
But now Christ is risen from the dead, and has become the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep.
But is this account a plan for SALVATION or the History of His glory?
Genesis 1:14 NKJV
Then God said, “Let there be lights in the firmament of the heavens to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs and seasons, and for days and years;
Moed

Exodus 31:13 NKJV

The Lord mentions that He will sanctify us 6 times in the previous 2 chapters before He gets to the Feasts (MOED) in Leviticus

Hebrews 12:14 NKJV
Pursue peace with all people, and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord:
Summary
Is this the plan of His salvation or the History of His glory?
From Genesis 1:1 to Genesis 1-13 God tells us what is going to happen, in His creation: He is ONE the work of His Spirit, display of His Glory, separation of light and darkness, baptism (mikvah), resurrection, seed, life out of death
He then tells us the APPOINTED TIMES when things are going to happen for our salvation, sanctification and glorification, in Genesis 1:14
He then gives us the details in:
Genesis of His creative covenant
Exodus of His Law
Leviticus of His ways of Sanctification
Numbers to face the wilderness
Deuteronomy of His Practical commitment carried out by Moses
We celebrate the Feasts because they tell us of His glory
Genesis 2:3–4 NKJV
Then God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, because in it He rested from all His work which God had created and made. This is the history of the heavens and the earth when they were created, in the day that the Lord God made the earth and the heavens,
Psalm 19:1 NKJV
The heavens declare the glory of God; And the firmament shows His handiwork.
