KNOWING GOD MESSAGE 5 PART 2

C. DAILY TRAVELS

THE OMNI- PRESENCE OF GOD IN OUR DAILY LIVES

The Presence of God teaches all one very important Truth

WE MAY IGNORE GOD BUT WE CANNOT AND WILL AVOID GOD

Do you want to have a life marked by a pursuit of holiness, a life of light and the presence of God the Father?

Gather together with the church, pursuing intentional community and fellowship with other believers.

John 15:4
John 15:4 KJV 1900
4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.

The access we experience to the Father that comes through the shed blood of the Son happens because the Holy Spirit of God dwells in us.

God is not limited by our level of faith.

Allow me to give you What Bill Bright says in His Book God

1. GOD’S ILLUMINATING PRESENCE Which Affects Every person

2 Corinthians 4:6 KJV 1900
6 For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

We Begin to Know God when the Light of his presence exposes our sin.

Psalm 139:3 KJV 1900
3 Thou compassest my path and my lying down, And art acquainted with all my ways.
Hebrews 13:5 KJV 1900
5 Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

2. We see God’s INSPIRATIONAL presence revealed in special places and special times.

God has revealed Himself to men in unique ways.

a. God spoke to Moses on My Horeb through the burning bush.

Exod 3:1-4, 17
Exodus 3:1–4 KJV 1900
1 Now Moses kept the flock of Jethro his father in law, the priest of Midian: and he led the flock to the backside of the desert, and came to the mountain of God, even to Horeb. 2 And the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush: and he looked, and, behold, the bush burned with fire, and the bush was not consumed. 3 And Moses said, I will now turn aside, and see this great sight, why the bush is not burnt. 4 And when the Lord saw that he turned aside to see, God called unto him out of the midst of the bush, and said, Moses, Moses. And he said, Here am I.
Exodus 3:17 KJV 1900
17 And I have said, I will bring you up out of the affliction of Egypt unto the land of the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites, unto a land flowing with milk and honey.

b. Later we find God coming down at Mount Sinai in a pillar of Cloud and passed in front of Moses.

c. God’s Glorious presence filled Solomon's Temple that the people of God fell down on the ground and worshipped the magnificent God of Israel.

The Apostle Paul Saw the Lord in a Blinding Light on the Road to Damascus.

3. GOD’S “ INCARNATE PRESENCE” IS MANIFEST IN JESUS CHRIST.

John 1:14 KJV 1900
14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
You Might Say God with SKIN on.

4. GOD’S INDWELLING PRESENCE RESIDES WITHIN EVERY BELIEVER.

1 Corinthians 6:19–20 KJV 1900
19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? 20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.

GOD IS ALWAYS WITH US .

God Is Present With Us in All Places

Let us apply this attribute to the events of our lives.

First, God’s omnipresence means that we cannot go anywhere that God is not beside us.

Psalm 139:8–10 KJV 1900
8 If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: If I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there. 9 If I take the wings of the morning, And dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea; 10 Even there shall thy hand lead me, And thy right hand shall hold me.

Second God Is Present in All Our Circumstances

Have you had an experience that left you wondering where God is?

Sometimes we do not feel God’s presence, but emotions can be misleading.

No matter what we feel, God is still there.

Psalm 22:1–2 KJV 1900
1 My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? Why art thou so far from helping me, and from the words of my roaring? 2 O my God, I cry in the daytime, but thou hearest not; And in the night season, and am not silent.
The Psalmist Cries out here but Later in this Ps 22:9, 23, 24
Psalm 22:9 KJV 1900
9 But thou art he that took me out of the womb: Thou didst make me hope when I was upon my mother’s breasts.
Psalm 22:23 KJV 1900
23 Ye that fear the Lord, praise him; All ye the seed of Jacob, glorify him; And fear him, all ye the seed of Israel.
Psalm 22:24 KJV 1900
24 For he hath not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the afflicted; Neither hath he hid his face from him; But when he cried unto him, he heard.

Thirdly God Is With Us During Every Crisis

What crisis are you facing right now?

Unemployment, serious health problems, the break-up of your marriage, rebellious teenage children, rejection by those who once loved you?

God walks with us, gives us strength, understands our pain, and knows how to handle our problems.

Isaiah 43:1–3 KJV 1900
1 But now thus saith the Lord that created thee, O Jacob, And he that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine. 2 When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; And through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: When thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; Neither shall the flame kindle upon thee. 3 For I am the Lord thy God, The Holy One of Israel, thy Saviour: I gave Egypt for thy ransom, Ethiopia and Seba for thee.

Fourthly God Is With Us When We Tell Others about Him

Jesus promises, “Be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age” (Matthew 28:20).
Matthew 28:20 KJV 1900
20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
He said this as part of the Great Commission in Matthew 28:18–20—the challenge to go into the entire world and preach the gospel and disciple those who place their trust in Christ.
Matthew 28:18–20 KJV 1900
18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. 19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: 20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

Fifthly Nothing We Do Is Hidden from God

Jesus promised that our heavenly Father, (Matthew 6:4, ).

Matthew 6:4 KJV 1900
4 That thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly.

Just think about that.

When we privately do something good that no one else knows about, God still sees it and rewards us accordingly.

also Note
Luke 6:35 KJV 1900
35 But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil.

On the other hand, God also sees the wrong things we commit in secret.

We only fool ourselves by thinking that no one will ever know. Scripture says, “Nothing in all creation can hide from Him.

Everything is naked and exposed before His eyes.

This is the God to whom we must explain all that we have done” (Hebrews 4:13).

Hebrews 4:13 KJV 1900
13 Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.

There is no place we can hide when we do wrong.

God sees and is beside us. As believers, we may break our fellowship with God when we sin, but He does not leave us.

He is still dwelling within us, convicting us, helping us to do what is right through His loving discipline, and waiting for us to repent of our wrongdoing.

Some people see God as a “great traffic cop” in the sky watching their every move.

However, I like to think that He loves me so much that He cannot take His eyes off me.

I am the “apple of His eye.” Thank You, Father, for watching over us.

Consciously Living in His Presence God’s

omnipresence enables us to be in constant communion with Him and to depend on Him in every situation.

But at times we ignore His presence because we are so preoccupied with our lives and focused on material concerns (food, clothing, shelter, finances, and jobs).

Sometimes we even forget that He is with us while we are busy serving Him.

A. God promises when we are confused, He will guide us.

Confusion is rampant in our society—even among believers.

People ask: Why are these things happening to me?

Where should I go, and what should I do with my life?

We can have confidence that God will reveal Himself to us when we do not know where to turn.

Psalm 32:8 KJV 1900
8 I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye.

B. God promises when we are afraid, He will be with us.

When we are afraid, no matter where we are—at home alone, driving on the freeway during rush hour traffic, facing a hostile meeting, or walking alone at night—God is right beside us.
Isaiah 41:10 KJV 1900
10 Fear thou not; for I am with thee: Be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; Yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.

C. God promises when we are tempted, He will help us resist.

A Mans son Zac once observed, “The greatest tragedy in life is when we stop talking to God.” How true.

The devil is not terribly frightened of our human efforts, but he knows his kingdom will be damaged when we lift our hearts to God.

Although we can be tempted by our own flesh and by worldly influences, Satan is a major player in our desire to disobey God.

Pastor David Jeremiah puts temptation in a new light:

Suppose you and one of your friends are on the border of doing something wrong.

Both of you know it is wrong.

But you are about to do it anyway. But if you should say to your friend, “Go right ahead and do it, but I think you should know that I just heard from heaven and God will be here in a few moments.”

Maybe your friend will respond, “Wow, if God is going to be here soon, maybe I will do this tomorrow or next week, but I don’t want to do this if God is going to show up in a few minutes.”

D. God promises when we are hurting, He will comfort us.

Psalm 34:18 KJV 1900
18 The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; And saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.

E. God promises when we are discouraged, He will encourage us.

1 Peter 5:7 Joshua 1:9
1 Peter 5:7 KJV 1900
7 Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.
Joshua 1:9 KJV 1900
9 Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.

G. God promises when we are lonely, He will be our companion.

John 15:15 KJV 1900
15 Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.
Hebrews 13:5 KJV 1900
5 Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.
No person or circumstance can ever remove us from the presence of our loving God.
Romans 8:38–39 KJV 1900
38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, 39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Allow me to give some thoughts I believe God showed me when doing my Personal study on the Omni-presence of God.

I have called this
