Welcome. This is a church of Messiah. I'm Rob Wilson one of the teaching Elders calls the other one. He's not in the room right now. I've got something to hand out here and I'm going to get hand out gifts of the Spirit cards that are going to be talking about a lot of signs and wonders. And one thing, That thank you one thing that I get into conversations with other Christians from time to time they say, okay, those are gifts of the Spirit but they're then they're not the sign gifts. And I go. No, they're all sign gifts. So if you have the Holy Spirit present in your life in any way, it is a sign gift and you should Realize that and walk around bearing, the signs. Amen. Raise the banners High. So we're entering into a feast season and the church. The Messiah Banner came to mind like that and

Beast several years ago, I was overwhelmed and cried on the stage because I realized we were camping under the banners of our fathers houses.

Our father helped us to create those banners. These are in Insignia other ensigns, their Flags. They're not just Flags. There's signs and I knew that But this week's Torah reading kind of nailed it for me. I'm using a slightly different New Testament. Verse is everything else is consistent with our schedule. Flags and Banners. So a little more on this later. But flags are generally translated Daigle and Banners in in this in this seder and others sometimes they're translated o Thoth. Does the word oat raised an issue with any Christians. Any people who study Hebrew at all What soap mean? Signs Miracles, wonders. Signs and wonders oats. Oh, tote. So in this week's Torah reading, we will in last week's we're told a camp by companies, Savannah. So we sometimes sing a song with the word, I do nights about anyone. Remember singing that I do nights, a vote, praise to God, it means the, the and when you see it, translated its the lord of the Legions. The, the Lord of hosts, you remember the term Lord of hosts. Okay, we'll survive the word. Doesn't mean hosts doesn't mean Legions. It means the commanded ones. Even better. I don't know, I'd say V, the lord of the commanded ones. So can't fight companies. Those who are commanded. Each in his own camp in his own place. My honey is another word mick I named. This is the place where Jacob was wrestling with the angel and they call the name of the place peniel, canavial the face of God. But the night before he been wrestling and he was in a in a place of multiple camps, make a name some place or Camp each by his own standard Big L Flagg numbers 152 this week we get a new a new wrinkle each by his own standard. It kind of continues with the verse from last week, Big L flag on or long with the banners. The out of The oats. Not Quaker. Oats. though, some claim that's miraculous to nevermind. Danner's signs of their fathers houses Camp facing the tent of meeting on every side. So that's the Torah reading. That's the hook words kind of for me. God commands them to march according to an order. so, according to that order first When they're marching, you have Aaron and his sons in the ark. and then you have the first tribe. These are kind of like the sons of Leah. And these are kind of like the sons of Rachel. And so after the sons of Leo, you have the gershonites And then the, and then oh, I'm sorry, the arc and Aaron's sons. Then the first tribe, then the second tribe, the sons of Rachel kind of GAD is handmaiden of of Rachel. Here's the other sons of the handmaiden of reach of handmaidens and so would be followed by the gershonites in the Miranda Rights.

Those are there Rachel's kids to

Lady Soul is Liz, Liz except for this one. This one had to be kind of submitted substituted because the Levites were her other son and so they had to bring one of the handmaiden sons over to fill the fill the Gap. So after the second or the gershonites numeral rights then the Third

Sons of Leah and then the court sites. And Then followed by.

The fourth set of tribes as chardin enough to lie. What can we learn from this? I don't know.

You can study in a long time and think about it, I can tell you one thing that I've learned from it and that's what tribes do. I identify with do identify with any tribes at all. I kind of do. Judah, what's Judah known for? Praise. Am I involved in that? How many years did I play? Praise and worship music.

The 55 anyway. Yeah.

Easter car is known to have been. A study, a student of of of Torah we have in the Bible. It says the sons of issachar knew the signs of the times and what to do. How can you know the signs of the times? Without studying God's word, you can't, they knew the signs of the times because they study God's word and when you're studying God's word, sometimes you're not making a lot of money, right? So what's the Buell in known for?

We're going to say shipping. This is really weird. Zebulon is known for shipping and worldwide Commerce but their tribe was nowhere near the ocean. True. So they, they would go to work and the ships and, and, and Merchants and self sell things, and tradition, holds that cebule one. Helps fund is a car's life.

The guy who work for a living. Funded the life of the guy who studied for a living and those three, the one with praise those three March together. So identify with the tribe particularly of Judah of Zebulon. I work for a living and a cigar, I study a lot. So that's what I learn from it. What, what else can we learn from it? I don't know. Anyway, that's the encampment. The way it was camped on the East. You can see the East over there. And South and West and North. And then I'll face the Tabernacle. So that's enough of that.

It's at Sinai. So Lupus. Rob, you know, you're not teaching on shovel this week and I said, yeah, I know, but it's, it's it's there. I mean, they're camping there, camping in this place. They're making the Tabernacle in this place that they're being given God's instructions at this place. It's part of it. So banners. You might not have ever thought about the Messiah Banner, but years ago, several women 5. No, but how many came up with the same vision? I think five women came up with the same exact vision. Independently.

Yeah. Kathy Kathy, who sits back there, who lives back there. Now she's just back there. Pat Sullivan was one And in three other woman came up the same vision as based on revelation. 22 1 through 5. The angel showed me the River of Life bright as Crystal flowing from the Throne of God, and the lamb through the middle of the street. On both sides of the river was the Tree of Life. Yielding 12 kinds of fruit, every month with leaves for the healing of the Nations. the Tree of Life, the Tree of Life on both sides of the river, You ever thought about that before?

Yes.

Okay.

Could be. Don't know. Definitely connected.

Yelling 12 kinds of fruit. Every month with leaves for the healing of the Nations. The leaves are used for healing. The fruit is used for food. Nothing will be accursed, everything will be blessed, the Throne of God, and of the Lamb will be there. The servants will worship him one now and see his face. And his name will be on their foreheads night. Won't be any more. There will be no need for a lamp or the Sun for the Lord. God will be there light and they will reign forever and ever. Amen, So, the Messiah Banner is a sign. That we ascribe to, we are connected to this tree of life, this River of Life, these fruits for our food, for our, for our lives. Spiritual gifts, spiritual fruits. Kind of related and we're here in some way to try to bring healing to the nation's. So that's who we are. This is a banner of our father's house. One thing we do know we kind of make a big deal out of his. We try to map the Old Testament into the New Testament and I came across this visual. This is just Genesis you can imagine how many more Exodus Leviticus Numbers, Deuteronomy in the prophets would be it's basically a full color sheet that's just kind of all filled in The Bible is not connected and so we try to Mapp vs and we try to map words. That's why we do this word thing we do. Tally, words, Israel, it's in the Torah been vain. We've already been talking about and those are the three tele words in Hebrew that we have this week East. Roy Allen, been mapped real nice to the profits, but they don't map real well into the New Testament in the same way. So I decided I'm just going to focus on Oates. And so I went from the Old Testament into the Septuagint, and in the Septuagint. The same word is Samia, Somalia, Somalia, and it's translated military standard. And I thought, That's curious.

And so I wondered, is there another word in the Septuagint? That works. It's a Simeone. And Simeone. All semi is only used one time in the whole Bible. It's one of those hapax legomenon as the only thing is only has one time, it's never again used no one's real. Sure what it means because it's only used one time. And so they just translated military standard Simeone is used 181 times in the Septuagint. The Greek translation of the Hebrew text, so, it might have some good relevance to look at the, the Septuagint and 82 times in the New Testament. And can you imagine how many of these times were about miraculous signs?

No, can't tell me the numbers. Don't know what you're talkin about, Rob. It's a lot. A lot of times it's translated miraculous sign in the Septuagint. It is and in the New Testament. Can you imagine it's translators a miraculous sign several times. It doesn't always say miraculous. It doesn't always pound the table and tell you this is miraculous. unto us a son is given, and child is given, and he shall be called

New Testament. You will find the babe. Wrapped.

And this shall be a sign to you Simeone. What are those? Jesus says, everyone's looking for a sign, I'm not going to show you any signs except for the sign of Jonah. That's a miraculous sign. Resurrection is a miraculous sign, doesn't say miraculous, but when you read these verses you go, so I gave you a few really good miraculous sign versus there, in case you're interested.

I got to do this, I can't have Sinai without Martha Stearns. Painting, David Stern. The author of the cjb, The Complete Jewish Bible and the New Testament, Jewish New Testament, and the commentary. His wife did this painting and it's in there. Living room. I think, at least that's what David Berkowitz said years ago.

I've not met them. I know I will meet them someday, but Have not met them. Words, these are the words for banners and the Old Testament and I thought, okay? I was just curious Ness. Nest a years ago, we had a Ministry that we helped sponsor of be Whitley's Ministry. Nice to wean. On flags banners and it comes from Exodus 1715. Moses was Praising God, holding up his arms. And and when his arms fell, though the battle against the amalekites they were in the general losing condition. And when his hands were raised, that the tribes of Israel were in a winning condition and Aaron and Hur held up his arms, so that he could, he could keep his arms up, praising God, and and and, and Moses name. The place had 29 Lisa. I don't know why the Lord is my banner. Yahweh is my banner sound miraculous, or does it sound like a simple flag?

You get it necesitan, miraculous. But it's translated, simple flag. Also put up the flag, raise the flag and divisions troops with banners. This is considered a military kind of flag but it's used in The Song of Solomon, His Banner Over Me Is Love. He brings us into his banqueting table, His Banner Over Me Is Love.

That's a miraculous sign even though it's just a dig l. and then the other one notes sign of the Covenant, this is the sign of the Covenant with Abram. God made a Breet that day.

Sign. Oat mainly translated, sign or signs. Mainly usually I almost always Miraculous. Also means Mark can Mark be miraculous the mark of Christ on our heads is that miraculous? I would say. It's a miraculous. Testimony is the testimony of Christ. A miraculous thing I would say it's miraculous our banners miraculous, I think what this whole thing is trying to tell us is when the kids are up here, waving these simple crazy little Flags. It's a miracle. These are signs. Of God's presence.

Civetta. Vodka botika at the vertical. That's also about the horizontal. House with each other. And yeah, I know that's the sign of a cross. And I don't do that lightly. Oats. New Testament, sign sign, Miracle, sign these look almost look like the same chart, don't they? Kind of interesting.

They're kind of identical. So apparently there is a good mapping between the Old Testament Hebrew and the New Testament Simeone. Rob's best understanding. My best understanding of all of this. The banner or military sign was a standard was a miraculous sign in joining innocence each tribe of Israel. To the Covenant. God made with a ROM roughly 400 years. Earlier the banner was also a miraculous sign uniting the tribes with the one true God and renewing Andre presenting their place and you'd have Bob Hayes, Covenant. so, go back to

signs. Exodus.

Camp by companies each by his own standard honor, along with the banners, the old Tote, The Miracle, the miraculous Vines of their fathers houses. When we raise up a banner in here it's not a simple Banner. It's a sign that we are connected with United with the one true God. And he is in our midst, he is blessing us in our midst, the sign. Demonstrating these gifts.

That doesn't make any sense. What about Ruling and sound like a sign. It is, if you're ruling appropriately to sign, our whole lives are signs. Everything we do is sign on who we serve. One who we are Jennifer with on who we love. One, who we want to be with their all signs miracles. Got a minor thing, big deal.

The Lord made a covenant with avarom Genesis 15-18. You say? Yeah. Well he also made a covenant with Isaac and Jacob. You're right Genesis 26, and Janet, Jen and Genesis 28 application. The presence of God's spirit in our midst is this same miraculous sign. Of the Covenant. That we have with God.

Is that too deep for anybody or is everyone kind of getting us? You're shaking your head. Yes too deep.

Application, the presence of God's spirit in our mist. Is this miraculous sign of the Covenant? So everywhere we go we are bearing the sign of the Covenant

Every time we do anything, which is a gift of the spirit or the fruit of the spirit, we're bearing a sign of the Covenant. And when we do that, when we walk around the world in this way, we can under the banners of our fathers houses, we're living with him in our presents.

What's the most important thing about God in my life?

That he's in my presence or then I'll be saved eternally one day.

Yeah, both. I think the most important thing right now isn't my future salvation, I think the most important thing right now is really that he is with me.

one day I got to work and a guy who had been under for many years under his thumb,

And I had a hard time. There were there were a couple couple years maybe where I went to work and I wasn't sure if it was going to be my last day. I wasn't sure whether I was going to quit or I wasn't sure I was going to be fired and they were both possible on any day and I went to work like that for a couple years and I went to work one day and they said, so I'm still got fired. And I go.

I got on the elevator and went up to the second floor got out. I did it again. I went what What? And I Heard a Voice. Can you guess what? He told me. He said the thing I've been trying to teach you. You finally learned Guess what I said then.

Have you ever had this kind of conversation with god?

Guess what he said.

This is, this is gold. This is my real life. I will never leave you nor forsake you. I'm with you always.

That's the most important thing today, for me.

We can't find the banners of our father's house has bearing his sign. Everywhere we go. We talked about that in case any question on that, probably not. How to record profits behold, you are signs and wonders. If I change the words a little bit, I and the and the Israelites you gave me are signs and wonders. I decided to change it to you because it's actually more appropriate for our situation. You are signs and wonders and Israel from The Lord of hosts who dwells on Mount Zion. Isaiah 9 unto us. A child is born. A son is given. He'll be called, wonderful counselor, Mighty God. Everlasting father, Prince of Peace. Isaiah 55 I'm reading from a kind of paraphrase of the Septuagint Cyprus will replace the thorn and murtagh will replace the Briar. The Lord will be a name and an everlasting sign. The Lord will be the Everlasting sign that will never end. Psalm 74. This is a really sad song but it's not if you realize what it's about, this is like, at the Babylonian captivity, the enemies of God are are, are putting their access to the temple, and burning it, to the ground and destroying it. Utterly, those who hate you, and your Feast set up their own signs, for signs least. They're saying these are the right signs, you got the wrong signs, the wrong, we have the right signs. Set up their own signs for signs and destroyed your Sanctuary with axes and Fire Burning it. And all your meeting places to the ground.

They say, we don't see signs, there's no profit, no one knows, for how long. It's kind of like saying there's no God. Have you ever been in a world where people actually say there is no God? How many people have walked into that world and then sometime in their life?

Sometime this week. The world we live in says this. What signs? There's no profit no one knows for how long no one knows if he's ever going to come back. No one knows if he ever came in the first place. I think he didn't come in the first place.

They say how long of a God will a mock. You know, I'm worth thing that lift up your hand and Destroy them. Kill them all dead. Sounds like that, Rabbi Rabbi Meir, you work salvation the day and night and Heavens are yours. Have regard for your Covenant. Dark Places in our world are filled with violence, don't cause a downtrodden, the poor and needy to feel shame. We sing that have her kids every week. Help them to praise your name. Arise. Oh God. And defend your name. Avenge yourself. The Uproar against you needs to be stopped. In your time. Amen. Now I understood the Lord saves his anointed one. This is the lxx Septuagint. He will hear from him. He will hear him from his holy Heavens. In power is the Salvation of his right hand. The Lord save the anointed one, his anointed one Christ, he will hear him from his holy heavens. and whenever I think of God hearing Jesus, I Play back through my mind, the final chapters and John the high Priestly prayer of Christ. It's beautiful. Comes tribes. We have tribes here. Yeah, we're very tribal.

We are, we're very tribal. As an example.

We have a kitchen and cleaning Ministry.

How many people are in that tribe?

We have praise and music Ministries.

How many people are in that tribe? How many people's kids are in that tribe?

Dancing. Banners Ministries. Tactical Ministries. Evangelical Ministries. Wisdom Ministries. Prophetic Ministries, Ministries Ministries. This the gifts of the Spirit card that we handed out. It's not complete its limits, partial? Yes, Mary Sylvia.

We are praying Ministry. How many in the praying tribe? That's the biggest tribe sounds like.

Amen. Under the lordship of Christ and end, you can see, you can actually imagine one you're doing one of these things. You're not just doing a thing, you're camping under the banner of your father's house. When you're serving God and whatever way he's called you to serve, it's like he's put a banner over you.

You're in his presence. You don't need the wave, the flight. Yeah, you do need to wave the flag for him but he's waving a flag over you. His Banner Over. You Is Love applications for us. Everything we do under his leadership is no less than a miraculous sign of his presence. These miraculous signs include our children. Praising God, with dance, and flags, and Banners Etc. We should realize these miraculous signs and allow these signs to witness in our everyday life. We don't need to be pushy about what these signs mean, but we should use his wisdom and knowing what to say and what not to say. When I come into any context to someone who doesn't believe or has a limited face or or a struggling with a pain or a or an anguish or something. I should listen first before seeing anything. I should allow him to speak through me. I should not have free free free. Free. Rehearsed speeches.

People want to hear truth, they don't want to hear banter. He is the only source of such wisdom and there's a verse 1st Corinthians 1:30. It's what it says, it doesn't always say this in your, in your, in your Bible, this exact a words in this order, but what it means Christ. Has become wisdom for us. If we have any wisdom. It's him in US Christ, has become wisdom for us, and if you think that reflect on you realize it, then every verse in the Bible that says wisdom does. It says this wisdom, wisdom, wisdom wisdom.

All of them were Jesus.

Yeah. Doug shaking his head. Yeah that that moves moves me very deeply Jesus is our wisdom Christ. Has become wisdom for us. He is the source of wisdom. What to say? What not to say. So we must raise our banners High. 3 questions.

Michael has a question.

Right. Yes, it's the same route.

Move different.

Signs from God. Right. Right.

Right.

Well, let me try to say that resists because it should get on the tape. The Mike. Mike, I made a comment that semiotic symbiotics.

The science of signs of language. and a

Signs, for much of the world, I'm paraphrasing putting it into Robbie's much of the world doesn't have any Supernatural concept of signs and if they do it's a full open Supernatural concept of science but as Christians crisis brought wisdom into our lives. And so we have a supernatural understanding of even simple signs that we are experiencing every day. Close enough.

yeah, I'm not sure about the word parallels, he's saying shim ties together with Simeone and somatic semiotic sand and could Yeah. Could interesting correspondence, you any question. Nope. Okay. Let's pray. Holy God, we pray that you will guide us in recognizing your presents. And your life responding appropriately to it.

Help us in our children and our children's children. Experience your presence and to receive you. And help us to honor your presence by listening to your instruction and walking according to your leading.

We need to do this for our healing and our good and the good of the kingdom and the good of all the church. We ask this in Jesus name, help these signs be evident in each of Our Lives. Amen. Amen. Lupe my wife.

Yeah.

Josh.

He used by those into good sex.

yep, solupay mention that It's, it's appropriate and good to celebrate.

Many different backgrounds. Tribal understandings. Ethnic understandings. Foods, different foods, different, other things. You have something saveka.

Right.

Yeah well you skied see the presence of God anyway. You see the pillar of fire the column of smoke because all the tensor oriented toward the center. And then that was in the verse that we covered today, all the tribes are oriented toward the center and each of the tribes is actually looking at God in a slightly different way because they're looking at them from different angles. And you can say, well it's the same God. Yeah, but they're seeing it from a different perspective. And I think, I think there's a great glorious truth in that.

And when we, when we put this on, we're thinking. Okay, we all have something good in our backgrounds to share. And so we're thinking about looking at the good aspects of all these tribes, right? Well, I agree. We are kind of leaning toward that but I've been in situations where people were in different tribes than me and I wouldn't consider what they were doing. Good. but that doesn't mean God doesn't want them brought in One thing that the Bible teaches again and again and again. And I don't know how to say it any other way.

God doesn't need you to be where he is for him to bring you in to receive you. He will meet you exactly where you are. so, even even the bad aspects of all the tribes, We have responsibilities to meet with people who have those aspects and not hold something against them. We've gotten some interesting visitors here at church the Messiah from time to time and I can remember what one person said. Oh, he's just flat-out. Weird. Honey, what?

But it's not a bad idea to have a conversation with him. It's not a not a bad idea to allow God to to, to use his truth to speak through me into a context that I may not agree with. And and that's, that's part, that's part of what all this is about. It's yes, John

bagpipers to start coming to church Messiah.

My wife.

Whatever parents.

I bet money she has Christ in her life.

Right. Yeah, I might be part, Jewish my, my mother's family maiden name was a peshel, which is short for possible or pothole Hopper at the German on a minute. If you go through the hoppers in Germany, as well as I can understand it. They're usually either ancestors of Jews or bastard children of royalty.

Or both. So I figure I'm probably both and I probably don't want to know.

No, no there's a good argument. I am part Jewish but I don't I don't want I don't want to know. I have not send my DNA off. I don't want to know, why don't I want to know? Because I think that might have been kind of like incline me towards thinking. I was special. And I already think that's.

I don't already think that. Johnson timeout.

God made us all special like Julie says,

for purpose.

even if we're really strange,

There we go. Thank you, Lord, amen.
