WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS ABOUT SALVATION

I.                   God Loves You No Matter What Your Life Is Like.

Romans 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

I John 4:9-10 In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.  Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son [to be] the propitiation for our sins.

II.                No Mater How Upright Your Life May Be, You Are A Sinner Deserving Only Death

Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

Isaiah 53:6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.

Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin [is] death; but the gift of God [is] eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

III.             You Cannot Save Yourself.

Jeremiah 13:23 Can the Ethiopian change his skin, or the leopard his spots? [then] may ye also do good, that are accustomed to do evil.

Romans 3:20 Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law [is] the knowledge of sin.

IV.             You Can Find Salvation Only In Jesus Christ.

John 5:11-12 And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.  He that hath the Son hath life; [and] he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.

Acts 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

V.                Jesus Took Your Sins And Died For Them In Your Place.

I Peter 2:24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins,             should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

II Corinthians 5:14 For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead:

II Corinthians 5:21 For he hath made him [to be] sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

VI.             God Gives You Salvation As A Free Gift When You Accept Jesus Christ As Your Saviour.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: [it is] the gift of God:  Not of works, lest any man should boast.

VII.          God Asks You Simply To Believe That Jesus Died For You And To Accept Him As Your Own Saviour.

Acts 16:31 And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.

John 3:36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.

Romans 3:22 Even the righteousness of God [which is] by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:

Romans 3:24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:

VIII.       God Wants You To Accept His Salvation Today.

Isaiah 55:6  Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near:

II Corinthians 6:2 (For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now [is] the accepted time; behold, now [is] the day of salvation.)

Hebrews 3:15 While it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts, as in the provocation.

IX.             God Promises To Accept Yo No Mater What Your Life Is Like.

Isaiah 1:18 Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.

I John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us [our] sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

John 6:37 All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.

X.                God Wants You To Obey Him-Not In Order To Be Saved, But Because He Has Saved You, And Because You Love Him.

John 14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.

I John 2:5-6 But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.  He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.
