Introduction - In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth and He proclaimed them good.
But then came the fall and everything went crazy.
Sin and death came into the world and along with it came disease.
The farther we get from the fall the worse things are getting.
The food we eat is actually killing us.
We are allergic to it, or it causes issues like cancer and it won’t get better anytime soon.
Because we become ill we need help to get back to being well.
We don’t just need physical healing we also need spiritual healing.
We become broken inside.
Healing the body is often easier then the soul.
The soul gets messed up because of sin, abuse and the ugly things we do to each other.
Have you ever heard the saying Sticks and stones may break my bones but words can never hurt me.
We all need healing sometime - We all need a healer.
Jesus is our healer.
Why is Jesus our Healer?
There are many reasons - some of them are:
Healing is the children’s bread - something every christian has access to:
Another reason is for Jesus to fulfill prophecy:
Two more quick reasons why He is our healer: to destroy the work of satan and to Glorify God.
Who does He heal?
He heals all who come to Him.
Remember the man in the video.
He wasn’t a christian when he was damaged.
But he was healed miraculously and immediately.
What did he do next?
He glorified God and then he dedicated his life to the spread of the gospel of Christ Jesus.
What would you do if you were healed in that way?
God back to the life you were leading or would you dedicate your life to Christ and furthering His kingdom?
So what is a healer anyway?
Healer - a person who has the power to cure ill people without using ordinary medicines
What is the healer doing?
Disease to health.
Disease - a disorder of structure or function in a human, animal, or plant, especially one that has a known cause and a distinctive group of symptoms, signs, or anatomical changes
Health - the state of being free from illness or injury
So by these definitions how many of you are Healthy?
How many of you have a disease process going on in your body?
I consider myself healthy but I have a disease process.
How many of you fit into that category?
What can you do about disease in our bodies?
Doctors -
Medicines -
Jesus -
If you are a Christian you should turn to Jesus first.
How do we do this?
There are two good ways -
One way is to go to your prayer closet and pray.
Call out to Jesus… You can let Him know how you feel about it all and negotiate for healing.
The other way is to turn to your church family - to the Elders.
Be obedient to scripture.
Prayer offered in Faith (no wishy washy prayers)
So what does sin and forgiveness have to do with healing?
Does ever body know what these are?
How many of you consider the use of these as sin?
How many diseases can you think of that are a result of using this product?
How many other sins or substances that we use that could be causing our illness?
Drugs, Alcohol, pharmaceuticals, messed up relationships.
All this stuff can be outside the will of God for our lives.
For this to work we need to get right with God.
We need to let Him heal our souls, fix us on the inside.
Then we can work on the outside, we can work on the diseases that plaque our bodies.
Now Before I finish up Janet Secor has a testimony she would like to present.
Now we will move into a time of prayer and anointing.
If anyone would like to be prayed for and anointed then stand and move toward the aisle.
The elders and I will come around and pray for you.
While we are doing this the worship team will lead everyone in a time of praise through song.
