The Early Church Was A Community
The Early Church Was A Community
42 And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers. 43 And awe came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were being done through the apostles. 44 And all who believed were together and had all things in common. 45 And they were selling their possessions and belongings and distributing the proceeds to all, as any had need. 46 And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts, 47 praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved.

Devoted to the Apostles Teaching
We are united by the Apostles teaching with Christ as the head
Fellowship
We have fellowship through the blood of Christ
Breaking of bread
We gather together, hang out, and do communion together
Prayer
We pray (or should pray) for each others needs

45 And they were selling their possessions and belongings and distributing the proceeds to all, as any had need.
They were together at church and outside of it
They were together at church and outside of it
46 And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts,
They went to temple together
They broke bread in their homes
These guys not only sat together at the church but they were going to Chilis together afterwards. Not only this they were going home taking the Sunday nap and then getting together again in the evening.
We too should be hanging out together all the time—doing life together
The church was in favor with all
The church was in favor with all
Acts 2:47a (ESV)

The church was in good standing with all those in the community
We too should be of good standing with those that are witness to us because we are ambassadors of Christ
The Lord brought them more people
The Lord brought them more people
Acts 2:47b (ESV)
47b And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved.
If we care for the people that the Lord has sent us and we are a healthy community of believers, he will send us more
