Ministry Non-negotiables Attacked (The devil tempts Jesus)
(Luke 4:1-13)
Introduction:
Even life’s most important commitments will probably eventually unravel unless specific non-negotiables become intrinsic to who we are and the commitments that we make.
Robert Fulghum Book - “All I Really Needed to Know, I learned in kindergarten”
“Share everything.
Play fair.
Don’t hit people.
Put things back where you found them.
Clean up your own mess.
Don’t take things that aren’t yours
Say sorry when you hurt someone.
Wash your hands before you eat.
Flush
Warm cookies and cold milk are good for you.

Goldfish and hamster and white mice and even the little seed in the Styrofoam cup all die.
So do we.
And then remember the Dick-and -Jane books and the first word you learned - the biggest word of all - LOOK.”
Tell the truth - do not bear false witness
Do not take what does not belong to us - do not steal
Don’t what isn’t yours & share.
Honor your parents
ALL OF THESE HAVE A SCRIPTURAL BASE.
We
It goes without saying, that when these undertakings are embraced by multiple people, the same specific non-negotiables must be shared and affirmed by all concerned.
At the beginning of His ministry (Lk 3:23), some of Jesus’ non-negotiables became very evident.
They were Scriptural non-negotiables and as such were contrary to the devil’s rebellion.
When the devil tempted Jesus he attacked both who He was and His ministry non-negotiables.
