I. Caleb’s Past vs. 6-9

A. Caleb was different, because he was devoted to Yahweh fully. He referenced the Lord 9 times. Why, because he had set out to follow the Lord fully. Num. 14:24
Numbers 14:24 NASB95
“But My servant Caleb, because he has had a different spirit and has followed Me fully, I will bring into the land which he entered, and his descendants shall take possession of it.
B. Even though he didn’t deserve the wilderness, he didn’t complain with putting his dreams on hold for 45 years. He patiently waited on the Lord.
C. While he waited, he followed Yahweh fully. (God thoughts ex) Ps. 42:5-6
Psalm 42:5–6 NASB95
Why are you in despair, O my soul? And why have you become disturbed within me? Hope in God, for I shall again praise Him For the help of His presence. O my God, my soul is in despair within me; Therefore I remember You from the land of the Jordan And the peaks of Hermon, from Mount Mizar.

II. Caleb’s Present vs. 10-15

A. Now, before they can move on, they need to fulfill this promise to Caleb. At 85, he was ready to go.
B. For 45 years Caleb has dreamed of fighting giants. Most dream of fishing or golfing everyday. But not Caleb, he had a holy cause. “When your cause is great, the problems begin to shrink”- Max Lucado.
C. Caleb took Hebron and defeated the giants, because he was fully devoted to Yahweh. He didn’t do anything half way.
