INTENTIONAL DISCIPLES
• 1 Corinthians 9:24–27 (NIV) — 24 Do you not know that in a race all
the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to
get the prize. 25 Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict
training. They do it to get a crown that will not last; but we do it to get
a crown that will last forever. 26 Therefore I do not run like a man
running aimlessly; I do not fight like a man beating the air. 27 No, I beat
my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached to others, I
myself will not be disqualified for the prize.

INTENTIONAL DISCIPLES
•JESUS WAS INTENTIONAL IN DISCIPLESHIP
•Matthew 28:19–20 (NIV) — 19 Therefore go and make
disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the
Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and
teaching them to obey everything I have commanded
you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of
the age.”
INTENTIONAL DISCIPLES
WE MUST BE INTENTIONAL
•Achievements that happen in life – so much of the time
happen to those who have been intentional
•Jesus intentionally prepared his followers to go and make
disciples
INTENTIONAL DISCIPLES
INTENTIONAL DISCIPLES GET IN IT --- TO WIN IT!
They get in the game
They determine what success is
They do all they can to make it happen
“We make disciples.”
INTENTIONAL DISCIPLES
INTENTIONAL DISCIPLES EVALUATE HOW DISCIPLESHIP
SHOULD HAPPEN
They get their plans and purposes from the Word of God
They look at those whom they are discipling and see what they
need to focus on – to get them to where they need to be as fully
committed followers of Christ

•The only way the Kingdom of God grows –
•The only way the commission is completed -- is if we
become spiritual parents and reproduce disciples
•REMEMBER People are at different levels of spiritual
growth – yet they all have the same value
