Knowing Who I Am

There is increasing activity to remove Christians from the main stream of life
What was once the foundation of the greatest nation on earth is crumbling to the ground because of the removal of its foundation in Christ!
Many Christinas today are floundering under this societal pressure because they do not really know where they stand with God!
Faith in Christ and His finished work is a result of a personal encounter with God!
I know that God is real and the power of Jesus blood to set the captive free
All the arguments in the world can never cause me to believe that Jesus Christ is alive and well working in the lives of people today
IT is difficult for others who do not know Him to understand us! It is also easy for us to forget who we are in the middle of all the chaos
Our identity should be wholly wrapped up in Christ but what does that really mean?
You are not an accident or a random act of evolution
Psalm 139:13–16 NKJV
For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother’s womb. I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works, And that my soul knows very well. My frame was not hidden from You, When I was made in secret, And skillfully wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. And in Your book they all were written, The days fashioned for me, When as yet there were none of them.
You are adopted by the God of the universe to be a part of His family!
Romans 8:15–16 NKJV
For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.” The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God,
Adoption is a permanent, legal change in familial status!
You take on all the rights and privileges of belonging to that family!
This one fact alone should remind us that God loves us so much that the price of adoption was His own life!
You are redeemed!
Ephesians 1:7 NLT
He is so rich in kindness and grace that he purchased our freedom with the blood of his Son and forgave our sins.
The word redemption means to “be loosed” set free from captivity! Set a prisoner free!
Job 33:28 NKJV
He will redeem his soul from going down to the Pit, And his life shall see the light.
This one fact alone should energize our worship and every action and activity!
Psalm 71:23 NLT
I will shout for joy and sing your praises, for you have ransomed me.
You are Justified
Romans 4:3–5 NKJV
For what does the Scripture say? “Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.” Now to him who works, the wages are not counted as grace but as debt. But to him who does not work but believes on Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is accounted for righteousness,
The word justified means “to be made right.” I am assured that nothing will be held against me on Judgement day because I am right with God!
This is not a product of what I did, but of what Christ did for me!
You Are New
2 Corinthians 5:17 NLT
This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!
Isaiah 43:19 NLT
For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in the dry wasteland.
God is in the process of restoring the land of our life!
When you became a Christian you received a new nature and frame of mind!
Ephesians 4:24 NKJV
and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness.
Ezekiel prophesied the work of God
Ezekiel 36:26 NLT
And I will give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit in you. I will take out your stony, stubborn heart and give you a tender, responsive heart.
Jesus told His disciples
Matthew 7:16–20 NLT
You can identify them by their fruit, that is, by the way they act. Can you pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? A good tree produces good fruit, and a bad tree produces bad fruit. A good tree can’t produce bad fruit, and a bad tree can’t produce good fruit. So every tree that does not produce good fruit is chopped down and thrown into the fire. Yes, just as you can identify a tree by its fruit, so you can identify people by their actions.
We are called to be different and the darker the days get the more different we will be!
That difference is what should draw people to Christ - not away!
And Finally for today
You have Peace, Quietness, resulting in trust and strength
Isaiah 30:15 NIV
This is what the Sovereign Lord, the Holy One of Israel, says: “In repentance and rest is your salvation, in quietness and trust is your strength, but you would have none of it.
If you have surrendered to Christ through repentance you will have rest, quietness, trust and strength!
Isn’t that what the world is longing for?
Sin has a weight and a burden that needs carried! We can not carry it on our own because we know we are guilty
Matthew 11:28 NLT
Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.
Lamentations 3:58 NLT
Lord, you have come to my defense; you have redeemed my life.
Jesus has taken our burden and carried it to the cross and now can say IT IS FINISHED!
