That You May Know: Commending, Exhorting, and Warning the Family: (1 John
2:12-27)
Exposition: Having given the Litmus Test, love for the brethren, John will conclude his
introductory section with a commendation, an exhortation, and a warning.
We will break
this message into two parts, vs. 12-17 on May 29th and vs. 18-27 on June 5th.
Sermon Idea for May 29th: In this section we will discover both John’s commendation
to the family and his exhortation for the family.
He addresses the family (Little Children)
by dividing them into two groups: fathers who would comprise the older members in the
church and young men, which would include the younger members of the church.
