Today we remember those who made a unique statement of love for you, me and this country.
I. Jesus is unique.
a. All other religions say two things: you can do something to earn a good afterlife. And Jesus is not the unique or the ONLY True God.
b. The Bible clearly states that Jesus Christ is the only God and you can’t earn your salvation.
c. All other religions say do. Jesus alone says done.
II. Jesus stands above all other religions and says:
a. You have a PROBLEM. (sin, suffering, and death).
Isaiah 45:21–24 CSB
21 Speak up and present your case— yes, let them consult each other. Who predicted this long ago? Who announced it from ancient times? Was it not I, the Lord? There is no other God but me, a righteous God and Savior; there is no one except me. 22 Turn to me and be saved, all the ends of the earth. For I am God, and there is no other. 23 By myself I have sworn; truth has gone from my mouth, a word that will not be revoked: Every knee will bow to me, every tongue will swear allegiance. 24 It will be said about me, ‘Righteousness and strength are found only in the Lord.’ ” All who are enraged against him will come to him and be put to shame.
Romans 3:10 CSB
10 as it is written: There is no one righteous, not even one.
b. You can’t fix your dilemma.
Ephesians 2:1 CSB
1 And you were dead in your trespasses and sins
c. He alone came to die for you!
Romans 5:8 CSB
8 But God proves his own love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Romans 5:6–9 CSB
6 For while we were still helpless, at the right time, Christ died for the ungodly. 7 For rarely will someone die for a just person—though for a good person perhaps someone might even dare to die. 8 But God proves his own love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. 9 How much more then, since we have now been justified by his blood, will we be saved through him from wrath.
The Father looked at the lifeless body of Adam and said, you sure about this?

III. Therefore Jesus is WORTHY of your Worship, Time, Sacrifice and Devotion first for WHO HE is and second for WHAT HE HAS DONE!
Revelation 5 CSB
1 Then I saw in the right hand of the one seated on the throne a scroll with writing on both sides, sealed with seven seals. 2 I also saw a mighty angel proclaiming with a loud voice, “Who is worthy to open the scroll and break its seals?” 3 But no one in heaven or on earth or under the earth was able to open the scroll or even to look in it. 4 I wept and wept because no one was found worthy to open the scroll or even to look in it. 5 Then one of the elders said to me, “Do not weep. Look, the Lion from the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has conquered so that he is able to open the scroll and its seven seals.” 6 Then I saw one like a slaughtered lamb standing in the midst of the throne and the four living creatures and among the elders. He had seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven spirits of God sent into all the earth. 7 He went and took the scroll out of the right hand of the one seated on the throne. 8 When he took the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb. Each one had a harp and golden bowls filled with incense, which are the prayers of the saints. 9 And they sang a new song: You are worthy to take the scroll and to open its seals, because you were slaughtered, and you purchased people for God by your blood from every tribe and language and people and nation. 10 You made them a kingdom and priests to our God, and they will reign on the earth. 11 Then I looked and heard the voice of many angels around the throne, and also of the living creatures and of the elders. Their number was countless thousands, plus thousands of thousands. 12 They said with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb who was slaughtered to receive power and riches and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and blessing! 13 I heard every creature in heaven, on earth, under the earth, on the sea, and everything in them say, Blessing and honor and glory and power be to the one seated on the throne, and to the Lamb, forever and ever! 14 The four living creatures said, “Amen,” and the elders fell down and worshiped.
Reflection:
Consider the Glory of god and pray through Psalm 8.
Consider the depth of your sin before God and pray through Psalm 51.
Only Jesus said you have a problem. I will solve your problem. I will die in your place. I will defeat your enemies. I will redeem you from the consequences of sin against you and your own sin. I will do all that not because you offer anything to make me better, bigger or more glorified but because I made you to love you.
That’s unique. Other religions tell you to enter an endless cycle of improvement. How good is good enough? Others tell you to make the most of this life and live on in others. Nice, but not matter how well we do, it seems like it only takes one lunatic like Putin, Hitler, or who else to create so much chaos and damage that we will never end it and bring in Utopia.
Only Jesus is worthy because He is the most beautiful and wonderful perfection. He is worthy because of what He has done for us.
