Genesis 1:26 (NIV)

Point
Point
Analogies of the Trinity that fall short:
- Egg (Shell, white, yolk)
- 3-leaf clover
- Water (Solid, liquid, gas)
The best analogy: Three people dancing in a circle to one song.
Get three of the most unlikely people dancing in a circle.
There’s no “I” in “US.”
We’re made for each other because we’re made in His image. The church is a reflection of who God is - a community of different:
Colours
Cultures
Economic standing
Political views
Ages/generations
...all dancing to the same song. We cannot bear the image of God well if we don’t do life together well.
Matthew 28:19 (NIV)
19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
Baptism is not just a confession, it’s a commitment to COMMUNITY. It’s a responsibility of a confessing Christian.
The MOVEment we don’t do life alone. We occupy lives by doing life together through SMALL GROUPS.
Get small group leaders to stand up!
There’s no “I” in “US.”

45 From noon until three in the afternoon darkness came over all the land. 46 About three in the afternoon Jesus cried out in a loud voice, “Eli, Eli, lema sabachthani?” (which means “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”). 47 When some of those standing there heard this, they said, “He’s calling Elijah.” 48 Immediately one of them ran and got a sponge. He filled it with wine vinegar, put it on a staff, and offered it to Jesus to drink. 49 The rest said, “Now leave him alone. Let’s see if Elijah comes to save him.” 50 And when Jesus had cried out again in a loud voice, he gave up his spirit. 51 At that moment the curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom. The earth shook, the rocks split
In a moment in history, the Son of God absorbed the sin of the world:
He could not feel the Father anymore; the Father can’t get near sin.
He let go of His Spirit
The dance was disrupted
Dancers let go at the same time while dancing in the circle.
The Trinity tore itself open to let us in.
There’s no “I” in “US.”
