I SAID YES TO JESUS – I accepted him as my Lord and Saviour

The saviour bit was easy – you died on the cross for my sin

The Lord bit is something that I’ve been on a journey with ever since

PERHAPS A BETTER WAY TO LOOK AT THIS

In Matthew 28:18 it says, Jesus holds “all authority in heaven and on earth”

Truth is Jesus is Lord of All

Does every area of my life reflect this reality?

Has every area of my life come into alignment with the reality that Jesus is Lord of All? God is His grace is patient as we offer more and more of ourselves to Him and bring our lives into alignment with this reality

Every day we have the opportunity to declare Jesus as Lord of All.

Declaring Jesus as the Lord of all is one of the keys to Holy Spirit moving more powerfully in our lives.

PRAYER

AREA 1 - JESUS TALKING ABOUT HS

READ: John 13:14 (NKJV) 13 However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come. 14 He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you.

HOLY SPIRIT – Primary Mission

HS has come to glorify Jesus.

You could say that His core mission is to mediate the presence of Jesus.

Why? So we will love him, trust him, obey him and show him to the world.

HOLY SPIRIT LOVES TO COME IN POWER & TRUTH WHERE JESUS IS BEING LIFTED UP

AREA 2 - PETER LIFTING UP JESUS

Acts 10:36-44

This is the message of Good News for the people of Israel—that there is peace with God through Jesus Christ, who is Lord of all. 37 You know what happened throughout Judea, beginning in Galilee, after John began preaching his message of baptism. 38 And you know that God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power. Then Jesus went around doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with him.

39 “And we apostles are witnesses of all he did throughout Judea and in Jerusalem. They put him to death by hanging him on a cross, but God raised him to life on the third day. Then God allowed him to appear, not to the general public, but to us whom God had chosen in advance to be his witnesses. We were those who ate and drank with him after he rose from the dead. 42 And he ordered us to preach everywhere and to testify that Jesus is the one appointed by God to be the judge of all—the living and the dead. 43 He is the one all the prophets testified about, saying that everyone who believes in him will have their sins forgiven through his name.”

44 Even as Peter was saying these things the Holy Spirit fell upon all who were listening to the message.

PETER DECLARED JESUS AS LORD OF ALL AND HOLY SPIRIT FELL ON ALL THAT WERE LISTENING

You could say that HS loves to come and take the truth about Jesus and make it into an experience of Jesus

HS comes to glorify Jesus and mediate his presence

HERE, PETER DECLARES JESUS AS LORD OF ALL BUT LET’S REWIND THE CLOCK

It took something pretty monumental for Peter and the other disciples to have the revelation that Jesus was Lord of All! For them to fully grasp it.

AREA 3 – PASSAGE FROM MATTHEW, EARLIER IN PETER’S JOURNEY

Early in his journey, Peter had surrendered everything in order to follow Jesus.

Peter was fully devoted to Jesus but Jesus took him and the other disciples to Caesarea Philippi to learn an important lesson.

CAESAREA PHILIPPI - Explain the name and location CENTRE FOR THE WORSHIP OF FALSE GODS / IDOLATRY & MYTHOLOGY

PAN - worshipped Pan, the geek God of fertility / half human man, half goat.

They believed that this was the entrance to the underworld, to hell itself.

Sacrifice children to Pan.

DISCIPLES WOULD HAVE BEEN APPREHENSIVE ABOUT GOING THERE

It was forbidden for Jews to go there because of how vile it was

But Jesus brings them here - for one of the most profound parts of the Bible

He brings them here and asks them some questions.

Matthew 16:13-16 (NLT)

When Jesus came to the region of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, “Who do people say that the Son of Man is? “Well,” they replied, “some say John the Baptist, some say Elijah, and others say Jeremiah or one of the other prophets.”

15 Then he asked them, “But who do you say I am?”

Forget everyone else

In this location – with this backdrop / at the doorstep of hell / in one of the darkest places on Earth

16 Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.” 17 Jesus replied, “You are blessed, Simon son of John, because my Father in heaven has revealed this to you. You did not learn this from any human being. Now I say to you that you are Peter (which means ‘rock’), and upon this rock I will build my church, and all the powers of hell will not conquer it. And I will give you the keys of the Kingdom of Heaven. Whatever you forbid on earth will be forbidden in heaven, and whatever you permit on earth will be permitted in heaven.”

JESUS WAS SAYING TO THEM, I AM LORD OF ALL EVEN IN THE DARKEST PLACES, I AM LORD OF ALL EVEN IN THE MOST UNGODLY PLACES IMAGINABLE, I AM LORD OF ALL EVEN THE POWERS OF HELL WILL NOT PREVAIL AGAINST ME – I AM LORD OF ALL

JESUS ASKS THE SAME QUESTION OF YOU AND I TODAY

AREA 4 – JUST IN CASE YOU’RE NOT SURE (WORSHIP TEAM)

Through whom all things were created, and through whom we live” (1 Corinthians 8:6, NLT).

Jesus is Lord of both the dead and the living (Romans 14:9)

Creator and sustainer of all things (Colossians 1:16-17).

The son of God - Messiah - The lamb of God - The bread of life – Saviour of the World - The living water

Lamb of God / The Sacrifice for Our Sins / Our Saviour /One Who Sets Free / Our Redeemer / Our Mediator / Our Hope / Our Peace / Our Rock / Our righteousness -

Resurrection and the Life / The way, the truth and the life / Victorious One

He sits in the place of honour at God’s right hand

He’s the light of the world - He is the prince of peace - Lion of Judah

He has been given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow….and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord (Philippians 2:9).

Alpha and the Omega - The King of Kings and the Lord of Lords –

Supreme Over All JESUS IS LORD OF ALL!
