Philippians 2:9–11 (NKJV): Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, 10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, 11 and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
Think about a place where everything you would ever need is provided. A storehouse where you find answers to prayer, access to the abundance of grace and mercy, deliverance from bondages.
Yet, when you get there the door is locked and you cannot access those blessings which are behind the door.
That is the purpose of the next few sermons to help us learn what keys we have to access those doors that hold the answer to our prayers.
We are going to start with this spiritual elementary key Jesus.
As we begin this series, one thing we need to start by simplifying what we have complicated.
That is how we get to God.
Paul starts us off by stating a familiar Word
Jesus states I am the Way, the Truth and the Life, no man comes to the Father, but by Me.
Jesus states in John 5 you read the scriptures, it you do not come to Me
The New King James Version (Chapter 5)
39 You search the Scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life; and these are they which testify of Me. 40 But you are not willing to come to Me that you may have life.41 “I do not receive honor from men. 42 But I know you, that you do not have the love of God in you. 43 I have come in My Father’s name, and you do not receive Me; if another comes in his own name, him you will receive. 44 How can you believe, who receive honor from one another, and do not seek the honor that comes from the only God? 45 Do not think that I shall accuse you to the Father; there is one who accuses you—Moses, in whom you trust. 46 For if you believed Moses, you would believe Me; for he wrote about Me. 47 But if you do not believe his writings, how will you believe My words?”
The New King James Version (Nashville: Thomas Nelson, 1982), Jn 5:47.
Moses wrote about Me and you say you believe Moses.
In John 15 Jesus states apart from Me, you. An do nothing
The New King James Version (Chapter 15)
5 “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. 6 If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned. 7 If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.
However, if you abide in Me and I in you…
John 14 …if you believe in God believe also in Me…
Gen. 3:15 God in the Seed of he woman shall come deliverance
Matthew 9:28-Matthew 9:27–31 (NKJV): 27 When Jesus departed from there, two blind men followed Him, crying out and saying, “Son of David, have mercy on us!”
28 And when He had come into the house, the blind men came to Him. And Jesus said to them, “Do you believe that I am able to do this?”
They said to Him, “Yes, Lord.”
29 Then He touched their eyes, saying, “According to your faith let it be to you.” 30 And their eyes were opened. And Jesus sternly warned them, saying, “See that no one knows it.” 31 But when they had departed, they spread the news about Him in all that country.
DO YOU BELIEVE!
John 16:1 (NKJV): These things I have spoken to you, that you should not be made to stumble.
Jesus speaking to His disciples telling them of His death burial and resurrection in an effort to encourage them to understand, He is about to leave so that He can be the Intecessor, the Mediator between God and man, the Advocate with the Father.
John16:33 “These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.””
In Isaiah 7:9, Gods speaks to Ahaz King of Judah to encourage him in his distress from an enemy. He speaks and declares do not fear them, do not be disheartened; for their plan will not come into fruition
The New King James Version (Chapter 7:9)
If you will not believe,Surely you shall not be established.
