Intro. The three final psalms of ascent focus in Jerusalem.
Psalm 132 is about the ascent of the Ark of the covenant to Jerusalem
Psalm 132 is longer that the other psalms of ascent and it has historical references to King David (4x) and it focuses on primarily on the Ark of the Covenant which was a symbol of God’s presence and his rule among God’s people. Psalm 132 addresses those two things.
“Fowler, The psalm unveils God’s promise and plan for the ages, stretching from God’s covenant with Abraham, to Jacob at Bethel, to the construction of the ark and its subsequent journeys, to David’s bringing the ark to Jerusalem, to Solomon’s building of the temple, to the promised coming of Christ, to the fulfillment of all God’s promises to his people through Christ in heaven.”
18 verses in the next 18 minutes.

Make sure your confidence is built in God’s Word.
God is a promise maker and a promise keeper
God will remember and reward your troubles for the sake of the kingdom
It is a foolish confidence to think that we live however we want and still receive the blessings of God’s promises. Obedience has its benefits
God’s plan was fulfilled despite the moral failures of some of David’s descendents
Yet those who did not keep his Law did not sit on the throne.
