A BELIEVER'S BAPTISM

Mark 16:15-18 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. 16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. 17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; 18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.Mk 16:14–18.

To begin with brothers and sisters, Christian Friends, Well wishers, and Saints of God as we glint, gleam, and gaze at this glorious text we find that according to scripture Jesus rose from the dead early one Sunday morning. He appeared to Mary Magdalene of whom He had cast out seven devils. Also The bible says that Mary went and told Peter and the disciples and they didn’t believe her. They didn’t believe her!

After while Jesus appears to two of the disciples and gives them a sermon for seven long miles on the road to Emmaus.

Then, After that, Jesus appears to the eleven disciples while thy were eating and mourning and the bible says that Jesus was a little upset with them. The KJV version says in Mark 16:14 that He upbraided them for their unbelief. Upbraided 3x I found out that the word Upbraided means several things.

1. Upbraided means to find fault in a way that demeans the others, and to heap insults upon others as a way of shaming them.

2. Upbraided also means to find justifiable fault and give a reprimand. and finally.

3. Upbraided means Disparagement. In essence Jesus is saying

I’m reprimanding ya’ll,

I’m fussing at ya’ll, and

I’m getting on your case because the primary thing that will send any of God’s people to hell is disbelief in Jesus.

Not .....

Jesus upbraided them for their unbelief.

In Mark 16:15  And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. 16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. 17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; 18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. This is the Great Commission according to Mark’s Gospel. Historians say that Mark’s Gospel was the first of the four Gospels written. For the record, The Gospels are Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. And so in verse 15 the first order is Go!

Go means don’t stay.

Go is an action word.

Go is a perpetual word it has constant movement.

Go means get to moving.

Go means to produce for God’s kingdom. Go means to evangelize, the gospel to the loss.

Go means to teach, preach, and reach people with the Gospel of Jesus Christ as the Messiah. and go means to

Go everywhere on the planet and Preach the Gospel. Preach in the Greek vernacular is the Keyrusso.

Keyrusso means to shout it out from the roof tops, proclaim it through out the world, Keyrusso means to Preach like you’ve loss your ever loving mind. Scriptures say preach in season out of season reprove rebuke exhalt etc

The old Preacher use to tell me Allen preach when they want to hear you and I Preach harder when they don’t.

Then the text says in Mark 16 verse 16 if they believe in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and get Baptized, then, the bible says “and they shall be saved”.

Here’s where it gets real,

Here is where the rubber meets the road, Here’s where the Christian makes a bold confession that an inward change has occurred. and and and that they’re ready for and outward expression of the sacred ordinance of Baptism.

This outward expression only indicates that a change has come over you. And brothers and sister a war is going on all the time in us, Good verses evil, right vs wrong, saintly vs sinister, rotten vs righteousness and wicked vs holy.

“There’s a war going on, and it behooves us to embrace folk that want to be Baptized”. I’m so proud of these babies wanting to get baptized and their parents agreeing to allow this.Because

In this day and time it’s a wonderful thing too see young people accepting Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior.With all of the killing going on let’s try to save our children, Amen? Jesus said If they believe in Me and are willing to be Baptized !they shall be saved!

The word saved here in the Mark 16 text is the word Sozo. The word Sozo comes from the doctrine Soteriology. Soteriology is the study of Salvation. Salvation is the safety, security, and satisfying saving grace that is freely given to us from Jesus the Christ.

He’s Lord and Savior. And Children your decision today Marks a change in your life, it marks a shift in the atmosphere, it marks a new direction in your life. Because When you go back to school, your teachers are going to see a better you,

When you go back home, your parents are going to see a better you.and when you go on the playground your friends are going to see a better you.

And let me say this Baptism is important. Everybody in here who has truly been baptized can remember when they got Baptized. Back in the day and even right now, the whole church awaits to hear the Pastor say “Upon the profession of your faith, I now Baptize you....Hey hey hey. Yes Sir.

And that’s my main focus today.And depending on your denomination Several different doctrinal stances have been taken to differentiate between those different sects of Christianity. But! when Jesus said but he that believeth not shall be damned that’s applicable to all Christian religions . Every Christian religion or ministry or temple or congregation or mass or assembly etc etc etc etc ought to believe that doctrine.Or it’s not True Christianity.

Then there is verse 17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;

There ought to be power in your message power in your ministry and miracle power connected with your faith walk you ought to be able to cast out demons and not be scared of them either!

And here’s another thing from the word “if God gives you the gift of speaking in tongues use it!” If it wasn’t real then Jesus wouldn’t have said it. I’m never going to be so Baptist that I reject authentic doctrine from the word of God especially if Jesus is doing the talking . Jesus is doing the talking here in this text. So speaking in tongues is really real. If you have the gift use it. That’s the God honest truth.

18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

Well let me say something about verse 18 I’m not touching not no snake! And I’m not drinking no poison on purpose either, I’m just not going to play with God like that. I’m not going to tempt God with it either.

But! I will lay hands on the sick and expect them to recover in the name of Jesus by the power of the Holy Ghost.

Now, in a null shell That’s Mark’s Great Commission. And the bible says that 19 So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God. 20 And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.

Everybody say Amen. Well I’ve got to close in here and get ready to baptize these beautiful little children, Great God.

and dah Lord,,,, it’s a great day to be in the house of God um um where prayers can be heard yes, and tender mercy can be found, Oh Lord!

and where I can perform the sacred duty of Baptism. Yes Because the bible says if just one soul is saved , Great God then all of Heaven rejoices. Please Sir to Have Mercy

Oh Lord Oh Lordy ah. And Everybody in here today ought to be Praising the Lord!!! because He’s been (5th sooo good) to all of us. And Is there anybody in here that know that the Lord been good Well stand on your feet and tell somebody He’s been Good He’s been good The Lord has been good to me.

I should’ve been dead ! Sleeping in my grave but Lord made old death behave. And now I’m here to testify that if it had not been for the Lord on my side I don’t know where I’d be. Thank you Jesus Thank you Lord Thank you Jesus you’ve been better to me than I’ve been to my self. Yeah Yeah Yeah Oh Lord.
