Blessing and commissioning of the folks going to Malawi

That last part of our method that you just heard Pastor John mention respond is all about offering our time, talents, and our treasure to make the kingdom of this world look a little bit more like the kingdom of God. One of the ways that our church responds in the world is through our Malawi partnership of hope. And leaving later today we have a group of folks who on behalf of our church will be responding by going to Malawi.
So I want to just take a moment in worship this morning to pray a word of blessing over them. Would you join me in prayer
God we give you all the praise and glory.
We ask you to bless these your servants.
Fill the hearts of those we are commissioning
with the power of the Holy Spirit.
We send them forth as messengers of salvation and peace in your name,
to celebrate the gospel of your son Jesus Christ throughout the world and more specifically in their travels to Malawi,
We pray in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
Amen.

Potentially Offeratory piece

P. Lewis - contemporary version of Pardon and confession

as we come to this table we realize that we are flawed people and that we are in a flawed world
But in the midst of all of that the God that created us, recreates us
Through this sacrament forgiveness is not only offered, it is celebrated
The good news friends is that no matter what you have done or failed to do God is in the process of making all things new
Church, in the name of Jesus Christ you are forgiven, praise God that we are a forgiven people
