Samuel was used of God in amazing ways! He was used to do many miracles! He was used to to bring revival to Israel! He led the nation! He got to bring Israel God’s word! He killed a king! He anointed kings! God used him greatly!
What made Samuel so great? Why was he so used? Why could they say in 1 Samuel 3:19-20 “19 And Samuel grew, and the Lord was with him, and did let none of his words fall to the ground. 20 And all Israel from Dan even to Beer-sheba knew that Samuel was established to be a prophet of the Lord.”
It is because he listened to God!
HE JUST LISTENED
See the Bible places so much importance on hearing!
James 1:19 “19 Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath:”
John 10 27 “27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:”
Even for faith we need to hear
Ro 10:17 “17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”
We must hear to obey!
James 1:22 “22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.”
Samuel was so used because he listened! Are you?
1 Samuel 3:10 “10 And the Lord came, and stood, and called as at other times, Samuel, Samuel. Then Samuel answered, Speak; for thy servant heareth.”
HOW ARE WE APPROACHING THE WORD?

God spoke to Samuel

How amazing is it that God chose to reveal himself to a child! How amazing is it that God speaks!
Samuel would have not even known God had he not spoken!
1 Samuel 3:7 “7 Now Samuel did not yet know the Lord, neither was the word of the Lord yet revealed unto him.”
See theres a truth and it is WE CAN NOT KNOW GOD WITHOUT GOD
John 1:18 “18 No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.”
Romans 1:17 “17 For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.”
1 Timothy 3:16 “16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.”
