Delievered for the Power of Darkness

Delivered!

Colossians 1:13 the Father “hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:”

This is a declaration of truth that you need to receive. If you can’t receive this, you will never move forward in your walk with Christ. In fact, to NOT believe this is to say that you don’t believe GOD which means you have not been born again. You are among the unsaved.

If you can’t believe that you’ve been delivered from the power of darkness, what is it that you think you have been delivered from? The wrath of God? If that is all then you are clearly left in a dark and miserable place. BUT, that’s not the case for the scriptures says that we have been translated into the kingdom of his dear son.

We’ve been delivered from the Power of Darkness.

How do we stay delivered? Stop Yielding! The Darkness cannot assume power and authority over you – You’ve been delivered!

· Pray – Pray That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God; 11 Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness; Colossians 1:10-11.

· Call upon HIM if any darkness approaches! Psalms 18:3 I will call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies. Darkness, the realm of sin and evil, is your enemy.

· Stay in the Light! Turn not to the right hand nor to the left: remove thy foot from evil. Proverbs 4:27.

o But don’t just stay there, live there, walk there.

· Walk in the light! 1 John 1:7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

o Stop trying to perform and Just be.

You’ve been cleansed (1 John 1:7) – now stay out of the dirt!

· Don’t be the sow that is constantly returning to the mire. (2 Peter 2:22 quoting Proverbs 26:11)

But the flesh is so weak Preacher. The flesh and the spirit of man will always be contrary on to the other. Galatians 5:17 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.

But the flesh burns with lust, why? Because unclean spirits tempt us. Ephesians 6:12 spiritual warfare.

Protect the spirit. Better still, arm the spirit. Put on the full armor of God. Ephesians 6:11.

We DON’T do this. We run to fulfill the lust of the flesh. STOP IT! Walk in the spirit, Galatians 5:16.

How? How do I walk in the Spirit?

· Start by - Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. 6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Proverbs 3:5-6.

· Then Crucify the flesh – Galatians 5:24 And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. Kill them (the affections and lust).

How? How do I crucify the flesh? Several ways I’m sure – Pray, read the Word, Fellowship. All of which begins with REPENTANCE. But let me give you Two important ways – Stand and Don’t Yield!

· Stand – Galatians 5:1 Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.

· Don’t yield! Refuse to Yield – Don’t yield to temptations; Don’t yield to the flesh; Don’t yield to the enemy.

o Romans 6:13 Neither yield ye your members [your eyes, your hands, your feet, your heart] as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God. 14 For sin shall not have dominion over you:

o For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Ephesians 6:12 – STOP YIELDING to them!

The Bible says in 1 John 2:9, “He that saith he is in the light, and hateth his brother, is in darkness even until now.” Can I just suggest this – He that saith he is in the light, [and is living in sin], is in darkness even until now AND, is inviting the unclean realm into your life.

And yet the Bible says, the Father “hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:” Colossians 1:13. Translated means changed to.

What shall we find in the kingdom of His Son?

· Darkness? NO!

· Chains? NO!

· Fear? NO!

· Freedom – Liberty – Love – Joy – Peace – YES!

Stop yielding. Stop giving way to the devil. Stop allowing him a place at your table! Psalm 23:5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. IN THE PRESENCE OF MY ENEMIES! You have to own this; you’ve been delivered!

On top of that, the Bible says, “Behold, I give unto you power [authority] to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.” Luke 10:19

The enemy has no power except that which you yield to him! STOP YIELDING TO HIM! He is manipulating you through lies and deceit.

How do we stay delivered?

Proverbs 4:23-27 Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life. 24 Put away from thee a froward mouth, and perverse lips put far from thee. 25 Let thine eyes look right on, and let thine eyelids look straight before thee. 26 Ponder the path of thy feet, and let all thy ways be established. 27 Turn not to the right hand nor to the left: remove thy foot from evil.

Psalm 56:13 For thou hast delivered my soul from death: wilt not thou deliver my feet from falling, that I may walk before God in the light of the living?

Yes, He will and He has. But you will need to:

Psalm 89:15 Blessed is the people that know the joyful sound: they shall walk, O LORD, in the light of thy countenance. Once you know the joyful sound of deliverance, you will never be able to live without it.

Now GO and live like you’ve been delivered.
