Nehemiah 10:28–29

Identify the Problem

Matthew 12:34–35 (KJV 1900)

34 O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things?

for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.

35 A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things.

Romans 3:10–12 (KJV 1900)

10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: 11 There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God. 12 They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.

Pain in our body is designed to be a diagnosis tool.

When people try to take medications or even self medicate to alleviate pain, they only cause more problems and never solve the root problem.

See God’s Answer

Jesus did not shy away from pain or difficulties.

John 12:27–28 (KJV 1900)

27 Now is my soul troubled; and what shall I say?

Father, save me from this hour: but for this cause came I unto this hour.

28 Father, glorify thy name.

Then came there a voice from heaven, saying, I have both glorified it, and will glorify it again.

The Israelites in this text have identified their wandering hearts as the problem, but instead of ignoring it or rationalizing it, they dedicate themselves to seek God’s answers to their captivity.
