me speaking to you this morning, on this thought, biblical manhood and
biblical woman Womanhood and going to be sharing with you.
This this morning comes from a number of books, won a particular Rider Doug Wilson, Pastor Phil Jones but hopefully next week I'll have a list of all the resources that I have used and so maybe that you might be interested in purchasing those for yourself.
But many of you know that the culture shift that we have witnessed in the last few years.
Relating to sexuality and relating to marriage has happened much faster than what we could ever have imagined that someone would have told me that back in 2004.
That by the time, 2014 rolled around that, we would legalize same-sex marriage and celebrate it as a nation.
I would not have believed that, but that is exactly what happened.
If you'd have told me 2000 for that by the year 2014 that the University of Tennessee and their diversity Department, I would cause quite a controversy when they posted items on their University website and cursing all students to use gender-neutral pronouns.
When referring to others on, this was the first time that I had ever heard such such a thing and that happened back in 2014.
Instead of using the words, she or he students were, were asked to use the word z z e to refer to both sexes.
Until the transgender movement has pushed its way to the Forefront of our culture.
With what seems to be and it really is blinding speed.
And really the it is infiltrated.
Even small communities, you know the most controversial sign that we have put up in front of this church.
Here was the sign that read.
There are only two Sexes.
There are only two genders and you would have thought that I posted something so Blasphemous or something of that nature.
We received so much ridicule from the lgbtq community because of that, there was one particular lady that really harassed Miss Georgia.
Over the phone called several several times.
And giving Miss Georgia, a hard time you could say.
And I reached out to this particular young lady and I threw an email and got in touch with her and I encouraged her.
I said, hey look.
If you have something to say, say it to me because I was the one that put the sign up and I would encourage you to come meet with me and my wife and I will give you 15 to 20 minutes to say whatever you want to say.
So long as you give me 15 to 20 minutes to share with you what the Bible has to say.
And she was very receptive to that, she was like, Hey, I will do that.
I'll get in touch with you next week and we'll set up a time but unfortunately she never got back with me.
You say brother?
Why don't you post something?
Why don't you say something such as that?
Knowing that it's controversial, which it should not be controversial.
It just common sense.
There are two genders I did that because it's truth.
And the church, the Bible tells us in the New Testament is the pillar and ground of the truth.
And if you're not going to hear the truth on TV in the media, all those things in schools and so if any truth is going to be declared it needs to come from the church,
and, So this this culture, this sexuality perversion has infiltrated even small town such as ours Time Magazine.
I just a few years ago dub, the whole transgender issue as the new Civil Rights Movement, Really setting the stage for us to believe that the lgbtq community community is a persecuted.
Minority.
I may be much like the how they deemed it back in the sixties with the African-American folks.
More states have enacted a law that enables students to use restrooms or play on athletic teams of the gender that they identify with regardless of their biological sex.
We seen this, just this year of the swimmer by Penn State University, who broke all the records and was champion in women's swimming, even though he is a biological male.
And what what are the media do?
What do, what are the world tell us to do?
They wanted us to embrace that and celebrate that
That's the world in which we live.
But listen, what does the Bible have to say to such a hot-button issue?
That is beginning?
And not even beginning, it has permeated our culture.
When the Bible Ginger is god-given.
And it is not dependent on how a person feels about himself or herself.
It is a matter of biology, it is not a matter of emotions, it is a not, it is not a matter of your feelings.
But here's what we're going to see in the scriptures.
That there is more to manhood.
And there is more to Womanhood than biology and genetics, especially as we think about biblical manhood in biblical woman.
However, neither manhood nor Womanhood is ever separated from biology and genetics.
And the reason is, because at its root being mailed is, is determined by biology or more specifically genetics, it is never determined and I repeat never determined by what you feel.
The same is true of being a female.
You Raven scriptures and you find that in scripture when a child was born in the Bible.
It was always identified as a male child, or a female child.
And not one of them were biologists back then, can you believe that?
Ridiculous.
There's not even a hint in the Bible that the sex of a person could ever be changed.
Someone might say, well they didn't have the medical technology that we do today, but listen even when through Medical Science and operation is performed to quote on quote change the sex, it has been found impossible.
To truly change.
A person's sex.
1979 John Hopkins, University Hospital became the first American Hospital to offer this quote on quote sex sex reassignment, surgery later after many follow-up interviews.
They stopped doing those surgeries and they have not done another surgery since 1979.
Dr. McHugh the former psychiatrist in Chief at John Hopkins said this exchange is biologically impossible.
People who undergo sex reassignment, surgery do not change from men to women or vice versa, rather they become feminized men or masculinized women.
That is very, very revealing And so again where it is the Bible stand on manhood and Womanhood.
Well it's important to answer that question because where the Bible stands is where I stand and where the Bible stands is where we ought to stand as a church no matter how the world stands.
Okay?
So number one noticed this, the origin of manhood and Womanhood where does it all begin?
Where is the origin of it?
Well, it goes back to Genesis chapter 1 in through chapter 3.
That will look at it in just a moment but there is nothing.
There is nothing that God created.
That was created that with the Hands-On care that man was created where there was so much intimacy with how God created, man, that really separates man from all other Creation in Psalm 32, Psalm 33 and verse 6.
It says this by the word of the Lord, the heavens were made and all the host of them, by the breath of his mouth.
He gathers, the Waters of the sea together as they keep the lace up, the deep and Storehouse has let all the Earth fear, the lord that all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him for he spoke free spoke and it was done.
He commanded and it stood fast, it happened.
Just just think about that for a moment, think about our universe.
You cannot help as you think about our universe, how overwhelmed you are with its mass.
It is a tremendous size Universe.
There are billions of galaxies.
There are billions of stars within those galaxies.
Yet the Bible says that God spoke them into existence.
John spell he commanded in these things happen.
We can't help but we when we think on such things, we cannot help.
But ask the same question, the song assassin, Psalm 8 and verse 3, the psalmist said, when I consider your Heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars.
What you have ordained, what is man that you are mindful of him and the son of man that that you visit him.
So when God created this universe, he spoke it into existence.
When God created the animals gone, smoke them into it into existence.
Yet the Bible tells us that our God who who spoke this universe into existence and who spoke animals into existence yet when he created, man, he created man with his own hands.
Genesis 2:7.
Since then the Lord God formed the man of dust from the ground and breathed into his nostrils, the breath of life and the Man became a living creature.
The word formed.
It is the same root word that is used as a Potter who is forming a vessel made out of clay.
I saw the God who spoke the universe into existence took the Earth that he created.
And from that, he formed man, like a Potter would form a vessel of clay and then God did something even more unique.
Keep breathed into man, the Breath of Life, which really shows shows us the intimacy that God had with him forming man.
