Live in Hope
Live in Hope
Last week's overview - pick up from Peter’s witness
Get to baptism next week when we talk of the Joy of the Spirit.
When the people heard this, they were cut to the heart and said to Peter and the other apostles, “Brothers, what shall we do?”
Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices; my body also will rest in hope,
Rest in Hope, dwell in Hope, live in Hope
That God will restore, that God is in control.
That we can again be in His presence thanks to Jesus' death on the cross and resurrection and receiving the Spirit.
This is bringing his will here on earth as it is in heaven.
What is His will -
“The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free,

Last week we spoke of God’s faithfulness
here we see His prophecies coming together with Jesus' resurrection and the promise that the Spirit will be with us until the end of the age when Jesus returns and we are resurrected with him.
This was spoken about at Andrews Funeral
“Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me.
My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you?
And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.
We place our future and our hope in the resurrection of all that believe in Jesus as their Lord and saviour.
That there will be a continuation of our soul/ our spirit with God
For we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands.
Meanwhile we groan, longing to be clothed instead with our heavenly dwelling,
because when we are clothed, we will not be found naked.
For while we are in this tent, we groan and are burdened, because we do not wish to be unclothed but to be clothed instead with our heavenly dwelling, so that what is mortal may be swallowed up by life.
Now the one who has fashioned us for this very purpose is God, who has given us the Spirit as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come.
I am a living example of this tent life, being comfortable with being uncomfortable.

We see brokenness around us we have hope that our lives today can do something about it as we listen to the holy spirit. and Ultimately Jesus will renew the earth and we will enter into his presence directly. Eden - not floating in heaven.
The lord's return is why we need to have that holy spirit glow, sharing our living Hope and assurance in eternity.
