Redemption

The Bible Story is of Redemption

man fell into sin through lust and disobedience

God began to show his plan of buying us back

God redeemed Noah from the floods of water

God redeemed Abraham from childlessness

God redeemed Israel from slavery in Egypt

This was all a picture of what God was doing for all of mankind

For Nepali people in Kathmandu

Why do we need redeemed?

Redeem means to purchase freedom

To seperate someone from a burden or master

When Adam (the first man) sinned he sold all of his family into slavery

Romans 5:12-14 We are all in sin

We are now servants/slaves to the things of this world rather than spiritual good things

Corruption (2 Peter 2:18-19)

Diverse pleasures and lusts (Titus 3:3)

Death and fear of death (Psalms 49:7-8,15 from paw of death) then galations

Sin (John 8:34) then Romans 6:17-23 but ye have obeyed

In that slavery was a curse

Curse of the law (Galatians 3:13)

Jesus is our redemption

We were not redeemed by corruptible things

1 Peter 1:18-25 but by the lamb of God, Jesus Christ

In the Bible, the redeeming gospel is preached

Christ is the one who took the curse for you

No idol or man could redeem you

It took the sacrificial death of a redeemer

Trust in him today
