8th verse subject
Get in midst
Introduction:
My brothers and my sisters many of us can look over the last two years and say that life has not thrown any trials or tribulations, but for most of us we can say that the last two years of life has had challenges, we can say that we have had to overcome some trials and tribulations, we can say that the pandemic has changed the way we worship, the way we communicate the way we relate to others and even the way we relate to God. My brothers and sisters we had to learn how to social distance ourselves from others. We had to learn how communicate with others while at the same time being careful that don’t touch us. We had to learn how to meet people without shaking their hands. How to show compassion without hugging. My brothers and sisters by no means am I preaching against social distancing, I feel that the social distances was necessary and for some of us it may still be necessary. However, my brothers and sister with all that each one of us have been through during this pandemic we must be careful not to become social distanced spiritually. We must be careful not to become spiritually disconnected from the church and the body of Christ. Truth of the matter is no matter how social distanced we were in the natural. During the past two years all of us needed somebody spiritually. Truth of the matter is this pandemic taught us how to be alone. We were forced to disconnect, All of us physically had to disconnect ourselves from our daily routine. Most of us was coming to church every Sunday but we were physically disconnected from the physical church, However, there were some of us that said although I may can’t come to church physically Im going to stay connected spiritually, So it is my brothers and sisters that although we may have connected online spiritually there is this element of all of us that felt out of the midst. To be honest there were times we connected on our iPhone and iPad, or computer but felt somewhat out of the midst. my brothers and sister what happens when we become social spiritually out of the midst, Well when we are spiritually out of the midst we don’t have the same fire that we used to, when we are spiritually out of the midst we don’t have the same anointing that we used to, So, it is in these moments that we feel out of tune with God that we need a reminder to get in midst, As a matter of fact just look at somebody and say get in the midst with God.
The CDC reported that a considerable degree of fear, worry and concern in the population at large and among certain groups in particular, such as older adults, care providers and people with underlying health conditions.
The CDC reported that levels of loneliness, depression, harmful alcohol and drug use, and self-harm or suicidal behaviour rose during this Pandemic.
That’s why no matter what we do if we don’t do anything else. We needed to stay connected, in tuned and in the midst with God.
Context:
Text: In the text we find Jesus teaching and preaching in the synagogue, although they were in the synagogue he found a man that although he was in the synagogue was out of the midst. This man was in church was not in the midst. I thought about myself when reading this text and if be truth be told. How many times I’ve come to church, but out of the midst. We come to church here in our physical body but out of the midst spiritually.
Some may ask why was he not in the midst? The bible gives us one particular reason that this man could have been out of the mix with the people. His hand was withered, Some of us are out of the midst because we have been like this man we have been withered, withered by losing a loved one, withered by the loss of a job, the loss of a family, I don’t know what it is that has you weathered but all of us have been withered by one thing or another and the truth of the matter is we can sometimes feel out of the midst.
Do I anyone in here that say Yeah, I know I look like I got it all together but sometimes I feel out of midst, I know I carry a title but sometimes I feel out of the midst, I know Ive been in the church for years but sometimes I feel out of the midst.
My brothers and sisters whatever it is that has withered Jesus has the ability to put you back to gether again.
So Jesus tells the man with the withered hand stand forth and get in midst,
He had to be in the midst for God to heal him, truth of the matter is I’ve learned how to celebrate those who are around me, I heard somebody say if he blesses you and Im in the midst that means he in the same neighborhood. When your in midst you might be next in line.
Jesus asks those who were around him was it okay to heal on the sabbath… He asked their opinion but he didn’t need their permission, God is getting ready to bless you with the permission of others.
They had their opinions but God blessed him anyhow.
Noticed that this man was not mention by his name but rather mentioned by his condition, We know him as the man with the withered hand.
Truth of the matter is a lot of people forgot your name but have come to know you by your condition, That’s her who had cancer, that’s him that went through , that’s the lady that lost her daughter or that’s him. We have the tendency to look at people by what we know about them rather than who they are, but can I just tell you God is getting ready to restore your condition so that they can remember your name.
However, this man did not let his condition be his conclusion.
everywhere he went people will look at his hand.
He was at a disadvantage from everyone else.
When everyone else could use both arms he could only use one.
He was limited to what he could do.
He had to learn, be comfortable with the uncomfortable.
This one hand although it was one of the smallest limbs of his body affected his entire way of life.
2—— It was stated in Hebrews that this man was Mason and that he once made a living using his hands.
However, this particular limb was powerless, it was not able to function.
It was slowly day by day withering and not being useful.
The right hand is what most people use.
It's common and 90 percent of people are right handed.
I know we have some left handed people in the room.
But if he was right handed.
Basic function are taken away.
You cannot right. You cannot lift.
The thing that was abled him to make resources was the thing that was now taken away from him.
The right hand is also is also the hand of strength and power.
In biblical references the right hand osna representative of authority.
The religious leaders were constantly trying to trap and trick Jesus into enigmatic questions so He once told them “The Lord said to my Lord, “Sit at my right hand, until I make your enemies your footstool” (Luke 20:42-43)
Isaiah provides further evidence of this by writing “fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand” (Isaiah 41:10).
So the enemy did not just attack any part of his body. However, it attacked the part of his body that represented his power.
The enemy will not attack what is kit attached to your power and strength. The areas in your life that is most powerful now becomes a target to the enemy.
That's what happened in 21 you have a powerful marriage that's why the enemy attacked.
You have a powerful ministry that's why the enemy attacked.
You have a powerful family that's why he attacked.
You have a powerful position on your job.
That's why the enemy attack.
However, I came to encourage someone that the attack didn't destroy you.
You still made it out even while withered.
You still made it to the house of God, even while withered
--Pause---
Even though the Man was Hindered….He was in the synagogue
The mistake that we make in church is that we think everybody is perfect. However, do I have anyone that can agree with me to the point that I'm not here because I'm perfect and have everything figured out but I'm here because I'm withered.
Can I just tell you that you are in the right place at the right time for a shift.
When This man with the withered hand got in the midst
He shifted his entire life in one moment.
from dependence to independence
From abnormality to normalized.
From misery to joy.
From chaos to peace.
Often times when Jesus provided a healing there were two types of people in the room, or the church. There was the one who came in expecting a healing and deliverance and there was the ones who came in looking to condemn.
But I believe I have some people in the church. That's like this man who came in the withered and you made up in your mind that I refused to l
I need a something different I need a fresh start.
Im preaching to the people that walked around withered. People saw you withered. People saw you spiritually functioning with one hand.
Some people instead of helping actually laughed at your hand.
Can I just encourage you that God is getting ready to give you a public healing.

1——The healing took place on the Sabbath.
The only reason working or healing could take place on the Sabbath was if the it was a life or death situation.
The pharisees did not see this as a Life or death Situation. They figured he could wait another day…
However this man was not willing to wait another day because he had been in the situation for too Long.
Not another hour not another minute but I need yiu me
He could not wait another day hour or another minute.
They where people in the temple who had the same opportunity that he had, however they didn’t seek a miracle they where concerned about him.
When you are called, when you are anointed, when you have assignment people in 2022 are gonna watch, people in 2022 are going talk. Jesus response was since you are talk anyway I might well do what God assigned you to do.
1.Jesus tells the man to Stand forth-
Although his hands was withered there was nothing wrong with his legs....
In a sense Jesus asked him to trust him with what he could do, and if yiu can trust me with what yiu can do I can heal what yiu can't do.
Although it was not his feet that were bothering standing still required strength.
I'm talking to someone that can say after all you been through you can pat yourself on the back that yiur still able to stand.
Yes after all I've been through I'm still standing.
After done all but stand stand
There many different reasons and representations for standing in the bible, in some references standing meant showing honor, some meant stamd in reverence to God and some used the reference as a means of standing on faith and what you believe.
This man my brothers and sisters I belive stood on faith.
He didn't know how it was going to work out. But he stood anyhow.
Stand anyhow.
He then tells the man who had already stood forth… Now that you have stood forth—
Strecth out your hand
It seemed as though this was impossible task. Seemed as though this was unreasonable ask for him to tell him to stretch forth his hand knowing that it was windering.
He didnt complain and said lord you see the condition of my hand here yiu are asking me to..stretch it out. You see the pain my hand is in and here yiu are asking me to stretch it out.
He didn't complain. He just stretched it out.
Someone can say lord you see the condition of my family and hear you are asking me to stretch it out.
You see the condition of finances and here you are asking me to stretch it out
You see the condition of my marriage and here you are asking me stretch it out.
He knows your condition. All he is saying is give it to him.
He said come onto me all who are weary and heavy Laden and I'll give you rest.
Whatever. Your dealing with you have to learn to let God work on it
We've been walking around all 21 with withered situations but in 2022 stretch it forth
It was miracle for him to even stretch but stretching is saying lord I've done all I can do now it's in your hands. But I'm trusting that you will what is best. Even
The moment he stretched was the moment his situation shifted
I'm here to encourage you to
Stand up, stretch out, and restoration is yours.
Once he stretch forth his hand was immediately restored…..
The problem the people had with the healing was not the fact that Jesus healed him. However, it was the fact that he healed him on the sabbath. It was the timing of the healing.
It was Jesus responsibly to heal this man.
He broke their rules in order to meet a need.
He is will g to break what is common to meet yiu were yiu are at.
He needs not the approval of others. When he get ready to bring you out. He's going to do bring you out. When he gets ready to bring you peace he is fijnf to do it. Rather they approve it or not.
Yes, it was considered wrong according to man's law of sabbath to heal in the sabbath. However, Jesus understood that the ultimate wrong would be to see a man thay needs healing and look past it because of what others would think.
Some of us need to understand that we have to get over the opinions of others.
We lived life Worrying about how we are perceived to be. However we need just do what God told us to do and get in the midst If people lie yiu great if the don't great. As long as you fulfill yiur call and please the man up stairs.
If he would have done nothing they would have said something. So he might as well had of done his job.
If you nothing opinions are going to come if yiu do something opinions are going to come
So yiu might as well so something.
I might be taking a risk. However, I know I have a call and anointing on my life
Ultimately you not responsible for how folk respond to what God told you to do. However. You are responsible for what God told me t do.
All of our hands are spiritually withered.
What withered you
Sickness
Death
Family issues,
Financial issues,
Can have us withered.
Psalm 34:18 says, “The Lord is near to the broken-hearted and saves the crushed in spirit.”
Revelations
Although our hands are withered There is someone who has the power to restore…
No matter how hard we try.. We can not restore any wounds that we have..
What once an a shame now became a public display of a miracle
But there is someone that heal the very being of us that has been hurt….
His name is JESUS..
I can see this man with the with the withered hand singing Father I stretch My Hands to thee. No other help I know….If thy will draw this self from me whether shall I go….
What is it that his withered Can I suggest you today to those who have been trying to heal the issue yourself…..
Its time for you to give it to GOD and Stretch forth…….
Technically Jesus did not do any work. All he did was speak the word….
All the withered man did was Obey and respond to the word.
There are certain things that God want to for us but it will require our obedience.
He heard the word he acted on the word and then he got his healing,
He didn’t act on his situation. Because if he would have acted on his situation.
He could step up, he could sit up…
But there was something that Jesus asked him to that was beyond his own capabilities.
That was to stretch out his hand.
Because his Hand was withered.
Have God ever asked you to do something that that felt as though it was beyond your own capabilities and strength?
Truth of the matter is sometimes God will as us to make sacrifices the that’s beyond what we can do our own because he knows with his strength we can a
The day was the Sabbath… Place-Synagoe The healing power came from God.
This disease was a sickness that caused this man’s hand shrivel, the and it gradually moved up his arms if not healed quickly it would have consumed his entire arm or body.
Stand forth-Rise up-
Stretch forth
Be restored
The withering is getting ready to stop.
I'm getting ready to restore it as it once was.

I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.
