PERSONAL PENTECOST THE LAME W ALK 1. _______________________________________________ to ________________________________ Acts 3:1 1 One day Peter and John were going up to the temple at the time of prayer - at three in the afternoon. Hebrews 10:25 25 Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another and all the more as you see the Day approaching. Psalm 92:13 13 planted in the house of the LORD, they will flourish in the courts of our God. 2. ___________________ Is a _______________________ of _________________________________ Acts 3:2 2 Now a man crippled from birth was being carried to the temple gate called Beautiful, where he was put every day to beg from those going into the temple courts. John 9:1-3 1 As he went along, he saw a man blind from birth. 2 His disciples asked him, "Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?" 3 "Neither this man nor his parents sinned," said Jesus, "but this happened so that the work of God might be displayed in his life. 3. __________________________________________________________________________________ Acts 3:3-5 3 When he saw Peter and John about to enter, he asked them for money. 4 Peter looked straight at him, as did John. Then Peter said, "Look at us!" 5 So the man gave them his attention, expecting to get something from them. Isaiah 53:4-5 4 Surely he took up our infirmities and carried our sorrows, yet we considered him stricken by God, smitten by him, and afflicted. 5 But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed. 1 Matthew 8:14-18 14 When Jesus came into Peter's house, he saw Peter's mother-in-law lying in bed with a fever. 15 He touched her hand and the fever left her, and she got up and began to wait on him. 16 When evening came, many who were demon-possessed were brought to him, and he drove out the spirits with a word and healed all the sick. 17 This was to fulfill what was spoken through the prophet Isaiah: "He took up our infirmities and carried our diseases." 18 When Jesus saw the crowd around him, he gave orders to cross to the other side of the lake. 1 Peter 2:24 24 He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed. 4. ____________________________________________________________________________________ Acts 3:6-7 6 Then Peter said, "Silver or gold I do not have, but what I have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk." 7 Taking him by the right hand, he helped him up, and instantly the man's feet and ankles became strong. 5. ________________________________________ with ______________________________________ Acts 3:8 8 He jumped to his feet and began to walk. Then he went with them into the temple courts, walking and jumping, and praising God. 6. ___________________________________________________________________________________ Acts 3:10 10 they recognized him as the same man who used to sit begging at the temple gate called Beautiful, and they were filled with wonder and amazement at what had happened to him. Habakkuk 3:2 2 LORD, I have heard of your fame; I stand in awe of your deeds, O LORD. Renew them in our day, in our time make them known; in wrath remember mercy. 2
