WALKING WITH GOD
TEXT: 1 Thessalonians 4:1‑12
*INTRODUCTION:*  Walking has become a popular form of exercise.
I see people walking all over this town at all times of the day and night.
Some walk fast and invigorating, others seem to be just strolling along.
The Christian life can be compared to walk.
In fact, this is one of Paul’s favorite ways to picture the Christian life.
*/Ephesians 4:1/*/ I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called, /
*/Ephesians 4:17/*/ This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind, /
*/Ephesians 5:2/*/ And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a  sweet‑smelling savour.
/
*/Ephesians 5:8/*/ For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light: /
The Christian life begins with a step of faith.
But that step leads to a walk of faith.
( Cor. 5:7 "For we walk by faith, not by sight")
Walking suggests progress, and we must make progress in the Christian life.
*/Philippians 3:13‑16/*/ Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you.
Nevertheless, whereto we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule, let us mind the same thing./
