Eternity Changes Everything

Romans 8:30

Being “Called”

i. God “called” me to be saved

A Genuine Believer

a. Defined
i. Is a person that sincerely believes in Jesus Christ and diligently seeks to please Him.
b. We do this in three ways

Living Soberly (self-control, self-discipline)

Living Righteously

Living Godly

For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all people. It trains us to reject godless ways and worldly desires and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age, as we wait for the happy fulfillment of our hope in the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ.
c. As true believers we have certain benefits
i. We are called, justified and glorified

God:

The Glory of Believer

Called

i. The Spirit calls and stirs the heart of the sinner to come to Christ.
ii. God’s Spirit talks with your spirit
iii. God’s Spirit helps us to see our lostness
iv. Our hopelessness
v. We respond to God’s “calling” or beckoning or wooing.

Justification

i. It’s a fancy way of saying you are not guilty
ii. You have been counted as righteous.
iii. God will not hold your sin against you
1 John 2:1–2 NLT
My dear children, I am writing this to you so that you will not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate who pleads our case before the Father. He is Jesus Christ, the one who is truly righteous. He himself is the sacrifice that atones for our sins—and not only our sins but the sins of all the world.

Glorified

iii. It means to be incorruptible
iv. It means to be perfected
v. It means to be made permanent and eternal
vi. It means to be free from pain and tears
vii. It means to be free from being tired and weary,
viii. It means to be free of trials and sin,
ix. It means to be free from defilement, weakness, frailty, sickness, suffering, and death.
x. It means to be free from an imperfect world and to be placed into a perfect world with God—a world that lasts forever and ever.

For our momentary, light affliction is producing for us an eternal weight of glory far beyond all comparison,
You:

God wants you to free

a. We can find rest
i. We still have live on earth for a little while
ii. God wants to be assurance of one thing

Eternity changes everything

i. You will be free from the struggles and suffering of this sinful world
ii. You will be free from all the sin, shame, failure and shortcoming
iii. Free from pain and death.
iv. You is going to be glorified right along with God’s dear Son, the Lord Jesus Christ.
Just imagine:

God has set the glorification of the believer

It has been set once and for all.

For the true believer it is our hope
ii. Turn your eyes heavenward

Turn your eyes to Jesus
