Are You Persecuted for Righteousness Sake?

Introduction: They Persecuted the General, the Ambassador, Lisa Cheney for Going bythe Truth. They were Threaten for it. The General and the Ambassador lost their jobs for it. Lisa Cheney was been Persecuted by our own Party and Trump. I know first hand how employer persecute people who do their job and tell the truth. My own family went again for doing the right thing at my jobs. The government also persecuted me for telling the truth about the Nerve Gas that I found in a sample for the Sunflower Army Ammunition Plant. I lost my job for it. It was a Felony not to report what I found.

I. If You are Persecuted for Doing the Right Thing, Great is Your Reward in Heaven.

A. Men Will Revile You

B. You will Be Persecuted.

C. They Will Speak Manner of Evil Against You False for Jesus’ Sake

D. Rejoice and Be Glad

E . They Also Persecuted the Prophets in the Old Testament

Matt 5:10-12 “10 Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 11 Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. 12 Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.”

F. You Should Love Them That Curse you, Bless Them, Do Good to Them, and Pray for Them

Matt 5:44 “44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;”

II. When You Are Persecuted, Go To Other People, to Another City, Jesus Said.

A. Keep Spreading the Gospel.

Matt 10:23 “23 But when they persecute you in this city, flee ye into another: for verily I say unto you, Ye shall not have gone over the cities of Israel, till the Son of man be come.”

B. People Will By and By Be Offended When You Spread the Gospel and Tell the Truth

Matt 13:21 “21 Yet hath he not root in himself, but dureth for a while: for when tribulation or persecution ariseth because of the word, by and by he is offended.”

C. God Sent Prophet, Wise Men, and Scribes, and Some of Them Were Killed and Crucified

Matt 23:34 “34 Wherefore, behold, I send unto you prophets, and wise men, and scribes: and some of them ye shall kill and crucify; and some of them shall ye scourge in your synagogues, and persecute them from city to city:”

III. The Jew Persecuted Jesus, Sought to Slay Him, and Finally Crucified Him

A. They Wanted to Kill Jesus for Doing Good on the Sabbath Day

John 5:16 “16 And therefore did the Jews persecute Jesus, and sought to slay him, because he had done these things on the sabbath day.

B. They Crucified Jesus Between Two Thief Like He was a Criminal

Luke 23:32-34 “32 And there were also two other, malefactors, led with him to be put to death. 33 And when they were come to the place, which is called Calvary, there they crucified him, and the malefactors, one on the right hand, and the other on the left. 34 Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots.”

C. Since We Are Christ Servant, They Will Persecute Us

John 15:20 “20 Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also.”
