Every Christian is called to use their talents in the Body of Christ.
1 Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have you ignorant.
6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: Because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: Seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.
When someone understands God's unique gifts, they can actively reach their potential in their family, marriage, and church.
When someone doesn't step up and operate in the Body of Christ, they rob themselves and their church of spiritual blessing.
We all have a role in the Body of Christ.
A lack of knowledge can destroy people.
As each believer finds their motivational gift and operates in it, the church becomes strong, and each believer grows.
You discover your gift and use your gift, and the influence of the church grows.
16 That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man;
The outer man is the body.
Inner man is the Spirit.
"whole spirit and soul and body be preserved."
God works from the inside out.
The moment you were born again, God raised you spiritually.
16 For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.
The outer man perishes.
God wants our inner man renewed daily, an ability for an inner revival daily.
God gave us the Mind of Christ to you.
The nature ofChrist is living in you.
I live by the faith of the Son of God.
You have already received the capacity to be renewed daily.
"Spiritual gifts are motivations given by the Holy Spirit to accomplish supernatural tasks."
God's Spirit gives the ability to operate with a supernatural drive.
"Every child of God receives a debt of love designed to motivate us to fulfill the Law of God."
Love the Lord thy God
Love your neighbor as yourself
There is a debt of love - I owe you love
You owe me, love.
You should love the body of Christ.
When you withdrawal
When you don't serve
When you don't use your gifts
8 Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.
Different people
Different backgrounds
Different likes
Owe no man anything but to love
We are going to love brothers and sisters in Christ.
God gave you a spiritual gift to pay your debt of love for other brothers and sisters in Christ.
God gave us supernatural spiritual gifts so that we could love one another.
At salvation, you received a special spiritual enabling.
16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:
When you were born, God gave you physical enabling.
God gives natural inherited biological gifts passed down generationally.
When you are born again, God can take your natural abilities and make them supernatural.
Achedimics
Mechanics
Education
Physical
Musical
God gives all giftings, and he wants to empower them by His Spirit supernaturally.
Our gifts and our abilities are not for ourselves as Christians. They are to be used for our family, in our occupation, and for the church's ministry for God's glory.
We should use our Supernatural gifts at our workplace for a great testimony for the Lord
We should use our Supernatural gifts in our home to teach and train our children and our siblings...
God is sovereign and knows what you need, he knows what your family needs, and he knows what your church needs.
Motivational
Ministry
Administration
Manifestational
You have at least one motivational gift.
It's alright if someone has more gifts than you do.
4 Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit.
5 And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord.
6 And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all.
7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.
God gave Gifts not so that the gifts can be highlighted and exalted.
We don't compare ourselves.
10 As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.
I am supposed to minister my gifts to you, and you are supposed to minister your gifts to me and others in the church.
The Holy Spirit gives gifts.
The word gift in scripture comes from the word χάρισμα
charisma.
The "gift" means divine gratuity, spiritual endowment, and cheerfulness.
Operating in talents, gifts, and abilities makes you cheerful.
Grace is the God-given power and desire to perform the will of God in any given situation.
God has a will for your life and my life.
I need to understand my gift and operate by God's Spirit to perform what God has called me to do.
13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.
You are here by God's grace.
God saved you by His grace = a desire to accept Jesus as your Savior.
"As ye have received..."
1Co 12:6 And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all.
Operations = ἐνέργημα
energēma -
an effect: - operation, working.
When you allow Him, God gives supernatural energy to operate in the gift God gives you to manifest His power through you.
There will be a supernatural production.
Ministry Gifts
28 And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues.
29 Are all apostles? are all prophets? are all teachers? are all workers of miracles?
30 Have all the gifts of healing? do all speak with tongues? do all interpret?
best gifts - plural
God gives ministry gifts to strengthen believers and advance the Kingdom of God.
IIPeter4:10
God Gave You A Gift of Grace
6 Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith;
7 Or ministry, let us wait on our ministering: or he that teacheth, on teaching;
8 Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that sheweth mercy, with cheerfulness.
God gives you one of these so you and He can develop and grow that gift.
7 For none of us liveth to himself, and no man dieth to himself.
I need _____ in my life.
There are no gifts that are more important in the Body of Christ.
7 For none of us liveth to himself, and no man dieth to himself.
God gives you a grace gift so that you will learn your need for others in the Body of Christ.
3 For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.
4 For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office:
5 So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another.
You and I connect through our gifts; we need each other.
The Body of Christ can be dysfunctional.
If you refuse to get involved in the body of Christ and you don't invest your gifts in the Body of Christ, you are stealing from God.
God doesn't want you to be self-sufficient; he wants you to need the body of Christ.
Just as God looked at Adam and said it is not good that man should be alone, He has expressed over and over again in Scripture that God intends Christians to be serving, worshipping, and edifying other Christians.
How do I obtain my grace gift:
1. Be Born Again
6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.
ICor2:12-14
The natural man receiveth not...
2. Experience Christ's victory over sin
Romans 6-8 deals with victory over sin, and God's spiritual enabling isn't revealed until Romans 12.
Romans 6
You need to grasp Romans 6, 7, 8
You cannot operate in your spiritual gifting living in the flesh.
3. Develop sensitivity to the needs of others
As I am sensitive to the needs of others and God's leading, I can operate in the gifting God has given me.
Over the next few weeks, we will examine spiritual gifts' categories, characteristics, and misuses.
The knowledge that we have a supernatural enabling, a spiritual gift that is valuable and needed in the Body of Christ, provides a deeper purpose in every area of our life.
You have a gift that, while operating in that gift, you experience fulfillment and fruitfulness.
While we operate in our gift, we experience fruitfulness while not succumbing to weariness.
