How does the Holy Spirit help us?
The Holy Spirit convicts us of our sin, comforts us, guides us, gives us spiritual gifts and the desire to obey God; and he enables us to pray and to understand God’s Word.
Last week we started talking about the Holy Spirit.
Who he is and what he does.

The Holy Spirit is truly and eternally God yet is distinct from the Father and Son (Luke 3:21-22; Acts 5:3-4).
He is a person—not a force; he was active in creation and convicts the world of sin, of righteousness, and judgment (Gen 1:2; John 14:16-17, 26, 15:26, 16:7-15).
He is the supernatural agent in regeneration, baptizing all believers into the body of Christ, indwelling and sealing them unto the day of redemption, and leading them into all truth (John 14:17, 16:13; 1 Cor 12:12-14; Eph 1:13, 4:30; Titus 3:5).
It is the privilege and duty of all believers to be filled with and walk by the Spirit, who gives gifts to the Church according to his will through which the Church serves one another and the world (1 Cor 12:4-11; Gal 5:16; Eph 5:18).
