Isaiah 9:6 “For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”
What is peace?
War is something thats normal to the human condition. we have over 4000 years of human history and only 268 of those years have been without war.
The united nations where created to stop wars. You would think that we would be use to wars by now.
Chances are you don’t know life apart from war.
Prince of Peace
What is peace with God ?
Peace is not emancipation. But peace is reconciliation with God.
Peace is more then a temporary set up of peace but an eternal one.
How do we know we have peace with God?
Roman 5:1 “Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,”
Justified means declared righteous. Its not in the present tense but in the aorist participle meaning past tense.
Whats the difference is that being declared righteous looks at the state you are in.
Have been declared righteous looks back to a fact that happened.
John Witner said it this way - A believer is not responsible for having peace in the sense of making it but in the sense of enjoying it.
Isaiah 26:3 “You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You, Because he trusts in You.”
We spoke on this Sunday mind is
Thinking ,Remembering , Understanding, knowing, Imagining
Have you ever took time out and just imagined God?
Phil 4:7 “and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”
We continue to trust in the Lord because we have experienced that inner peace the scriptures talk about.
Isaiah 53:5 “But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed.”
Eph 2:17 “And He came and preached peace to you who were afar off and to those who were near.”
Peace is a bridge and on the two sides you must have truth and righteousness. You must have truth and righteousness if you are going to have peace.
War is something thats normal to the human condition. we have over 4000 years of human history and only 268 of those years have been without war.
The united nations where created to stop wars. You would think that we would be use to wars by now.
