INTRODUCTION: Lets start off my giving you a backdrop of Jehoram the son of Ahab- the situation is explain in the first eight passage of scriptures in this Chapter, three Kings have come together in a conflict with Moab, Moab was paying a tax with Isreal, they decide to no longer pay the tax, this created a conflict with Isreal and Moab, so the King of Isreal went to the King of Judah and the King of Edom. share with them that Moab was no longer fulfilling his obligation so as a result a war is about to break out.
so it is we have a conflict between these group of people, the three nations, Isreal, Judah and Edom against Moab. so on their way to fight one battle, a new problem shows up, there has been a draught, a dry spell and there is no water for the soldiers no water for the cattle, so one Moab has become two problem. there is no water and we know water is essential to life.
What do you do when your life is in a draught., when there is no water. Water is regularly used in scripture to speak of life, the Holy Spirit is referred to as the life giving fountain or water for the soul and of course physically if you and I are without water long enough we died. there was no water. How can we fight when we cannot replenish ourselves.
Many of us will see season of draught, it is one thing to fight virueses, it is another to fight all of the restriction and requirements however when you have to that when there is no water. there is nothing replenishing you nothing sustaining you during this season of draught, during this battle. that is a problem. So now the King of Isreal Jehoram. says God has place us in a HOT mess. God has brought us together to be defeat by the enemy.
Have you ever felt like God has set you up. ok God you control water and there is no water, Where are you God. I am in a draught . God has set us up to fail. 11 But Jehoshaphat said, “Is there no prophet of the LORD here, that we may inquire of the LORD by him?” (as the Lord Lead) When I am in a draught and it looks like there is nothing to sustain me, I need to talk to someone who know God. Is there not somebody that can hear from God, who can recieve some instructions to get us through our situation. is there a prophet and the servant says there is a prophet name Elisha who used to pour water on the hand of Elijah.
so the King of Isreal and the King of Jehoshaphat went down to him. because they need spiritual clarity for a physical situation. if yoiu are in battle right now, (As the Lord lead) and there is no water, ever where you look it is dry, there is nothing that is giving you life sustaining clarity and help, that means you need a prophet word. the question on in the room today is there a prophet somewhere, is there somewhere i can go, to get spiritual clarity on this cultural confusion (as the Lord lead)
The New King James Version (Chapter 3)
13 Then Elisha said to the king of Israel, “What have I to do with you? there are three Kings that went to see him. but he turn and look at Jehoram the King of Isreal, and said Why are you here? go back to you people, to those false gods your mon and dad listen to, so now you want to united with the King of Edom and King of Judah, you see he was like a lot, some of us, he was a emergency worshipper..
because he is in a situation he cannot fix, so now he want to church.
The New King James Version (Chapter 3)
Then it happened, when the musician played, that the hand of the LORD came upon him. 16 And he said,
is there anyone here with a Keyboard. you can come to church for sermon and only get the sermon. there situation didn’t just need a sermon, they need a prophetic word. a prophetic word is God speaking personally into your situation. in order for them to get a prophetic word, they were going to need to worship. the purpose of music in worship, is not to be simply a perlude to a sermon, it is to set then atmosphere for God to speak.God didnt speak to the prophet Elisha to give him a word until atmosphere had been affect. so if you want a prophetic word don’t just show on sunday, you will only get a sermon. (as the Lord lead) “Thus says the LORD: ‘Make this valley full of ditches.’ 17 For thus says the LORD: ‘You shall not see wind, nor shall you see rain; yet that valley shall be filled with water, so that you, your cattle, and your animals may drink
why are they digging ditches? to make room for God.
This doesn’t make sense, when you get a prophetic, it want make any sense .
18 And this is a simple matter in the sight of the LORD; He will also deliver the Moabites into your hand.
you have issues this is a small thing.
you are going to have dig the ditches, because he want to see your faith a work
he only fill amount that you dig.
what act of faith, of giving
he bringing my
we are not giving God what he requires of you.
you have any problem diggin ditches find you Jehosphat that will challange

20 Now it happened in the morning, when the grain offering was offered, that suddenly water came by way of Edom, and the land was filled with water.

Go to the prophets of your father and the prophets of your mother.”But the king of Israel said to him, “No, for the LORD has called these three kings together to deliver them into the hand of Moab.”14 And Elisha said, “As the LORD of hosts lives, before whom I stand, surely were it not that I regard the presence of Jehoshaphat king of Judah, I would not look at you, nor see you. 15 But now bring me a musician.”Then it happened, when the musician played, that the hand of the LORD came upon him. 16 And he said, “Thus says the LORD: ‘Make this valley full of ditches.’ 17 For thus says the LORD: ‘You shall not see wind, nor shall you see rain; yet that valley shall be filled with water, so that you, your cattle, and your animals may drink.’ 19 Also you shall attack every fortified city and every choice city, and shall cut down every good tree, and stop up every spring of water, and ruin every good piece of land with stones.”20 Now it happened in the morning, when the grain offering was offered, that suddenly water came by way of Edom, and the land was filled with water.
6 So King Jehoram went out of Samaria at that time and mustered all Israel. 7 Then he went and sent to Jehoshaphat king of Judah, saying, “The king of Moab has rebelled against me. Will you go with me to fight against Moab?”
And he said, “I will go up; I am as you are, my people as your people, my horses as your horses.” 8 Then he said, “Which way shall we go up?”
And he answered, “By way of the Wilderness of Edom.”
9 So the king of Israel went with the king of Judah and the king of Edom, and they marched on that roundabout route seven days; and there was no water for the army, nor for the animals that followed them. 10 And the king of Israel said, “Alas! For the LORD has called these three kings together to deliver them into the hand of Moab.”
11 But Jehoshaphat said, “Is there no prophet of the LORD here, that we may inquire of the LORD by him?”
So one of the servants of the king of Israel answered and said, “Elisha the son of Shaphat is here, who poured water on the hands of Elijah.”
12 And Jehoshaphat said, “The word of the LORD is with him.” So the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat and the king of Edom went down to him.
13 Then Elisha said to the king of Israel, “What have I to do with you? Go to the prophets of your father and the prophets of your mother.”
