Faithful Fathers:
Faithful Fathers:
Follow God’s Word
Follow God’s Word
By Faith Abraham, when he was called, went out into the land of Promise. He led his family by trusting God’s promise and following God’s plan.
Bless their Families with their Words
Bless their Families with their Words
Isaac and Jacob blessed their children. This is really a prayer, asking God’s blessing.
Gen 27:27-29 “May God give you of the dew of heaven and of the fatness of the earth and plenty of grain and wine. Let peoples serve you, and nations bow down to you. Be lord over your brothers, and may your mother’s sons bow down to you. Cursed be everyone who curses you, and blessed be everyone who blesses you!””
It is based on the promises of God. Pray God’s Word and promises over your children and grandchildren. The example of Paul for his spiritual children.
Eph 3:14-19 “For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.”
Lead in Family Worship
Lead in Family Worship
Jacob bowed in worship to God at the end of his life. Gen 47:31 “And he said, “Swear to me”; and he swore to him. Then Israel bowed himself upon the head of his bed.”
In blessing his family he lead them also in worship of God.
Jacob recognized God’s leading throughout his life and His redemption.
Gen 48:15-16 “The God before whom my fathers Abraham and Isaac walked, the God who has been my shepherd all my life long to this day, the angel who has redeemed me from all evil, bless the boys; and in them let my name be carried on, and the name of my fathers Abraham and Isaac; and let them grow into a multitude in the midst of the earth.””
Leave Behind a Witness
Leave Behind a Witness
Joseph spoke of the Exodus, because he believed God’s Word.
God had told Abraham that his decedents would live for a time outside the land, but He would bring them out. (Gen 15:13-14)
God had told Jacob to go down to Egypt and He would bring the family out again (Gen 45:3-4)
Jacob passed the Word on to Joseph Genesis 48:21 “Then Israel said to Joseph, “Behold, I am about to die, but God will be with you and will bring you again to the land of your fathers.”
The Power of final Words:

“Under the sod and under the trees, Lies the body of Jonathan Pease.
He is not here, there's only the pod: Pease shelled out and went to God”
J. Paul Harwood – “For God so loved the world…” John 3:16
Joseph – “God will surely visit.”
