9 Be strong, and quit yourselves like men, O ye Philistines, that ye be not servants unto the Hebrews, as they have been to you: quit yourselves like men, and fight.
13 Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong.
Body
Body
The archetypal man
Classical: Strong, quick to anger, aggressive, act first and think later (if at all)
Modern: Sensitive, emotional, in touch with their feminine side, compassionate, a lover not a fighter
Caricature: Drunk, immoral, lazy, gross, stupid,
Biblical: ???
How are we suppose to act?
Lots of personality types, backgrounds, experiences, etc.
Some biblical guidance all leading to the fact that we all need to be Christ-like
In fact, it might be distracting us to continue focusing on the differences of men and women rather than the ultimate end of discipleship:
Ephesians 4:13 “13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:”
Having said that, there are some things about men that women have a hard time with, just as there are some things about women that men struggle with.
Society really focuses on the importance of women, and there’s no doubt they are
Society also tries to minimize and marginalize the importance of men in the family, at the workplace, in society
There’s a reason for that: God created men for very specific and crucial roles, both in the family and in society
We are to lead from the front
We are to example aspects of Christ women are simply not equipped to example
To our wives
To our children
At the workplace
In our culture
Here is a list of things men would love for women to know about men

Conclusion
If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
But make allowance for their doubting too;
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about, don’t deal in lies,
Or being hated, don’t give way to hating,
And yet don’t look too good, nor talk too wise:
If you can dream—and not make dreams your master;
If you can think—and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two impostors just the same;
If you can bear to hear the truth you’ve spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
And stoop and build ’em up with worn-out tools:
If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
And never breathe a word about your loss;
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: ‘Hold on!’
If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with Kings—nor lose the common touch,
If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you,
If all men count with you, but none too much;
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds’ worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that’s in it,
And—which is more—you’ll be a Man, my son!
