This morning I want to look at The Wonder of It All and some synonyms for wonder

Let's look at the Luke 9:28-36 and preface Preparing the Disciples for the Journey to Jerusalem and beyond

Jesus invites 3 to climb the Mountain

Why do we have to climb the mountain to pray?

awe/ surprise

Remarkable prayer will bring remarkable results

The change in Jesus / Moses, when close to God

Wonder of it all

appearance of Moses and Elijah

speaking of His departure (exodus) from Jerusalem

the assurance of life after death

for Jesus, the disciples, for us

Like Peter, we long for the moment, enjoy the present

Mountain Top to Ministry

had my moments

God speaks, touches the heart

The mountain gives the assurance that God is real, alive and with us

The valley can be beautiful if we've been to the mountain.

MLK said, "We've got some difficult days ahead. But it doesn't matter with me now. Because I've been to the mountaintop. I'm not concerned about that now. I just want to do God's will. And He's allowed me to go up to the mountain. And I've looked over. And I've seen the promised land."

Lord, have you got any mountains for us to climb?
