People receive glory (i.e., honor, dignity, renown) from a variety of places: power, wealth, talent, fame, etc. But, these are often fleeting and every one is destined to wane over time. There is a glory that will not wane and this passage encourages us not to let the distractions of this world keep us from pursuing it.
