Genesis 18:19
‘For I have chosen him, so that he will direct his children and his household after him to keep the way of the Lord by doing what is right and just…’ NIV
Deuteronomy 6:6-7
‘And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up.’
Psalm 103:13
‘The Lord is like a father to his children, tender and compassionate to those who fear him.’ NLT
‘The same way a loving father feels toward his children – that’s but a sample of your tender feelings toward us, your beloved children, who live in awe of you.’ TPT
Matthew 7:9-11
‘Would any of you who are fathers give your son a stone when he asks for bread? Or would you give him a snake when he asks for a fish? As bad as you are, you know how to give good things to your children. How much more, then, will your Father in heaven give good things to those who ask him!’ GNT
Proverbs 3:11-12
‘My child, don’t reject the Lord’s discipline, and don’t be upset when he corrects you. For the Lord corrects those he loves, just as a father corrects a child in whom he delights.’ NLT
Hebrews 12:7-12
‘As you endure this divine discipline, remember that God is treating you as his own children. Who ever heard of a child who is never disciplined by its father? If God doesn’t discipline you as he does all of his children, it means that you are illegitimate and are not really his children at all. Since we respected our earthly fathers who disciplined us, shouldn’t we submit even more to the discipline of the Father of our spirits, and live forever? For our earthly fathers disciplined us for a few years, doing the best they knew how. But God’s discipline is always good for us, so that we might share in his holiness. No discipline is enjoyable while it is happening – it’s painful! But afterward there will be a peaceful harvest of right living for those who are trained in this way. So take a new grip with your tired hands and strengthen your weak knees. Mark out a straight path for your feet so that those who are weak and lame will not fall but become strong.’ NLT
Proverbs 13:24
‘Those who spare the rod of discipline hate their children. Those who love their children care enough to discipline them.’ NLT
Proverbs 22:6
‘Dedicate your children to God and point them in the way that they should go, and the values they’ve learned from you will be with them for life.’ TPT
Isaiah 54:13
‘All your children shall be taught by the Lord, and great shall be the peace of your children.’
Malachi 4:6
‘And he will turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers…’
Ephesians 6:1-4
‘Children, obey your parents because you belong to the Lord, for this is the right thing to do. Honor your father and mother. This is the first commandment with a promise. If you honor your father and mother, things will go well for you and you will have a long life on the earth. Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger by the way you treat them. Rather, bring them up with the discipline and instruction that comes from the Lord.’ NLT
Colossians 3:20-21
‘Children, always obey your parents, for this pleases the Lord. Fathers, do not aggravate your children, or they will become discouraged.’ NLT
1 Corinthians 4:14-17 ~ Paul is a Spiritual Father
1 Corinthians 11:1
‘Imitate me, just as I also imitate Christ.’
