Staying In His Will, without getting in the Way

God is moving in ways the we can only imagine.

After

Building this new building

after making the move

After all the excitement and then watching Some leave

Then our whole world turned upside down

the Pandemic shutdowns

most churches lost 1/3 of their congregation that never came back after covid

but yet now God is moving

People are visiting

People are Growing

Souls are getting saved

we must understand where God is moving like he is the devil is sure to be on the prowl.

i’ve already seen him at work trying to get in

I’m here tonight to tell you that in my quiet time God is just showing me it’t time to fight to keep him out.

Background for this sermon.

Over these 6 chapters prior to this chapter we see a Great move of God in Israel’s story.

* They had been punished for disobedience

all Adults except Joshua and Caleb had died over the last 40 years in the wilderness wonderings.

They have a new army

A new outlook

now entering a new land

Just coming off a great God given victory at Jericho

Our text tonight comes into play as they are Battle against AI.

Everyone has heard

“ONE BAD APPLE SPOILS THE WHOLE BUNCH”

THIS IS NOT A BIBLICAL QUOTE BUT IS A BIBLICAL PRINCIPLE

Let’s notice

I. The Command - 6:18-19

Don’t touch whats God’s

What’s to be destroyed - v.18

What’s consecrated. v.19

II. The Corruption

Infected the Entire Nation. 7:1

Infiltrated the Entire Home. 7:21

III. The Cost

The Nation lost the battle. 7:4

it caused a setback in moving forward with God’s plan

2. 36 men lost their lives. 7:5

so 36 families lost someone in their home

3. Joshua was discouraged. 7:6-9

He questioned God.

4. Achan Brought trouble on all. 7:20

5. Achan Sin hurt his whole house. 7:24-26

Selfishness of Achan brought destruction to his family, damage to Israel, distracted God’s people from God’s plan, and disrupted the victory that God wanted to bless them with.

What about us

God is moving

We are Experiencing harvest time for our labors

Who’s getting in the way?

Let’s don’t be found guilty of Getting out of His Will and into the Way.
