1 Chron 16:11 “11 Seek the Lord and his strength, Seek his face continually.”
Heb 4:14-16 “14 Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession. 15 For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. 16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.”
The empathy of Christ forms the basis (“therefore”) for the second exhortation—“let us come with confidence to the throne of grace” (4:16). The force of the present tense of proserchomai could be rendered, “let us come again and again to the throne of grace.” We now enjoy immediate and direct access to the presence of God through the person of Jesus Christ. We do not need to come in fear or uncertainty; rather, we can come with parresia, with confidence. Parresia (from pan + resia = full story) in ancient Greece denoted the right of a full citizen to speak his mind on any subject in the town assembly—a right that the slave did not have.115 And what is God’s response? He extends us mercy and provides us with the grace we need to endure in time of need. - Nathan Brown

A. C. Dixon said,

When we depend upon organizations, we get what organizations can do; when we depend upon education, we get what education can do; when we depend upon man, we get what man can do; but when we depend upon prayer, we get what God can do.1

The great tragedy of life is not unanswered prayer but unoffered prayer.

Frederick Brotherton (F.B.) Meyer

Hold yourself in prayer before God, like a dumb or paralytic beggar at a rich man’s gate: let it be your business to keep your mind in the presence of God.

Brother Lawrence

Prayer is the rope that pulls God and man together. But it doesn’t pull God down to us; it pulls us up to him. Billy Graham

There is no place like the feet of Jesus for resolving the problems that perplex our hearts.

The world may doubt the power of prayer. But the saints know better.

Gilbert Shaw

PRAYER IS THE coupling of primary and secondary causes. It is the splicing of our limp wire to the lightning bolt of heaven.
