LORDSHIP — How you KNOW He’s LORD over you

Note: Jesus can never be the Lord of All if you don’t have a SACRIFICIAL SPIRIT

Romans 12:1–2 (NIV)
Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will ishis good, pleasing and perfect will.
Romans 12:1–2 (KJV 1900)
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
Luke 13:22–30 (NIV)
22 Then Jesus went through the towns and villages, teaching as he made his way to Jerusalem. 23 Someone asked him, “Lord, are only a few people going to be saved?”
He said to them, 24 “Make every effort to enter through the narrow door, because many, I tell you, will try to enter and will not be able to. 25 Once the owner of the house gets up and closes the door, you will stand outside knocking and pleading, ‘Sir, open the door for us.’
“But he will answer, ‘I don’t know you or where you come from.’
26 “Then you will say, ‘We ate and drank with you, and you taught in our streets.’
27 “But he will reply, ‘I don’t know you or where you come from. Away from me, all you evildoers!’
28 “There will be weeping there, and gnashing of teeth, when you see Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and all the prophets in the kingdom of God, but you yourselves thrown out. 29 People will come from east and west and north and south, and will take their places at the feast in the kingdom of God. 30 Indeed there are those who are last who will be first, and first who will be last.”

Lordship will guarantee that you will not be surprise on judgement day [Heaven] — Here’s the Theological problem, if the bible says all I have to do is confess Jesus as Savior to be save why will Lordship guarantee on judgement day that I want be surprise. Romans 10:9-10

Luke 13:22-23 This is a good & interest question
Luke 13:22–23 (NIV)
22 Then Jesus went through the towns and villages, teaching as he made his way to Jerusalem. 23 Someone asked him, “Lord, are only a few people going to be saved?”
He said to them,
Note: The idea of this question is, “ Jesus will you let anybody in that had somewhat of a personal relationship with you or will you be really strict on that day? Will only the holy rollers make it in & like the somewhat perfect people make it in. Or can I live how I want to & still make it to heaven “.
4 things in this Parable that will help you understand where you’re going on judgement day or will you be SURPRISE

1st: Make Every Effort Luke 13:24 This isn’t you working for your salvation

Luke 13:24 (NIV)
24 “Make every effort to enter through the narrow door, because many, I tell you, will try to enter and will not be able to.
Note: Jesus gives them this phrase “make every effort”
Note: The greek word for this phrase “make every effort” is the word “Agonizomai” from where we get our english word “Agonize”.
Note: It carries the idea of that we should labor, be intense, work hard in our Christian journey.
Philippians 2:12–14 (NIV)
12 Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed—not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence—continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, 13 for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose.
14 Do everything without grumbling or arguing,
Note: Now this bring up a Theological problem—Is Jesus suggesting that we are working for our salvation? [No He’s Not]
Note: But what He’s saying if you are genuinely save then your works will follow.
Note: Notice what He’s not saying—He’s not saying that you have to make every effort “To Get Into” the kingdom. But rather I want to exhort you to make every effort to get in. What Jesus is doing is condemning
* Lazy living
* Lazy Christians who want to get cheap fire insurance so they want go to HELL
* Skate thru life Christian & think they will make it in
* Don’t get Lazy
* Be obedient
* Give
* Serve
* Live your life in that following way
Note: So Jesus is telling this guy don’t be so concern about how many people is going to get into heaven but be concern about you making every effort on your part to get in.

1st: Make Every Effort

2nd: Narrow Door Luke 13:24

Luke 13:24 (NIV)
24 “Make every effort to enter through the narrow door, because many, I tell you, will try to enter and will not be able to.
Note: Jesus describes this door as being a very Narrow Door
Note: What Jesus is trying to get at, all thru the gospels is that being Christian in of itself means you are going to be “Narrow Minded”
Philippians 2:5 (KJV 1900)
5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:
Note: You can’t be an “Open Minded Christian” and keep God’s commandments.
Note: The definition of a Christian means in and of itself—you’re going to be “Narrow Minded”.
Note: An “ Open Minded “ Christian goes along to get along
Note: Open Minded Person—> Compromise the word of God.
Note: Jesus says we need to be “Narrow Minded” come thru the narrow door is coming thru the door that Jesus said to come thru
Note: Narrow Minded—is they maybe very nice people BUT I’m sticking to the word of God about them or about the situation no matter who I like or dislike.
Scrip: John 14:6
John 14:6 (KJV 1900)
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
Note: When you look at narrow minded you think that’s negative or bad but narrow minded when it comes down to your God.
Example: Wild hogs having worms.
Note: A True Christian is going to come thru the narrow door & narrow minded in terms of how you behave & what you believe.
Note: This door also suggest that there’s only one door & one way to get in [v.25] ONE DOOR.

1st: Make Every Effort

2nd: Narrow Door

3rd: Relationship with Jesus Luke 13:26-28

Luke 13:26–28 (NIV)
26 “Then you will say, ‘We ate and drank with you, and you taught in our streets.’
27 “But he will reply, ‘I don’t know you or where you come from. Away from me, all you evildoers!’
28 “There will be weeping there, and gnashing of teeth, when you see Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and all the prophets in the kingdom of God, but you yourselves thrown out.
Note: Jesus is letting them know that you may have gone to Church, be in a Christian setting & even done Christian work But I don’t know you.
Example: We all got family we don’t know.
Question: Do you have a genuine relationship with Jesus?
* Are you spending time with Him?
* Are you Hearing His voice [Does His voice say stay home—don’t pay Tithes & Offering—Don’t support your Pastor—Don’t serve]?
* Are you going to Him in Prayer?
* Do you love what He Love?
* Do you hate what He Hate?
* Are you going thru religious activity & depending on them to somehow get you into heaven?
Note: ONLY people who have a personal relationship with Jesus will get you into heaven.
Note: There’s members here that think I manipulate them into being faithful but it’s your personal relationship with God.

1st: Make Every Effort

2nd: Narrow Minded

3rd: Personal Relationship with Jesus

4th: A Surprise at the Judgement

Luke 13:26–27 (NIV)
26 “Then you will say, ‘We ate and drank with you, and you taught in our streets.’
27 “But he will reply, ‘I don’t know you or where you come from. Away from me, all you evildoers!’
Note: For some people you are listening to the sermons and different sermons from Preachers and for some you’re listening to the spiritual songs but the evidence don’t follow you.
Note: Some people who think they’re going to get in won’t get in & some people who think they won’t get in, will get in.
