Listen to the song "The Gambler" by Kenny Rogers
A father’s needs, need to be met if he is to ever be what he need to be as a father. In other words, what a father needs to give to his children, he needs to have received as a child. This is good theory but not very practical, glory to God, the gap filler.
Here is a good list of attributes of a good father.
1. Protective
2. Providing
3. Mentoring
4. Mentee
5. Deliberate
6. Determined
7. Gentle
8. Kind
9. Forgiving
10. Merciful
11. Firm
12. Ardent
Some of these seem counter intuitive, like merciful and firm, thus the metaphor of “The Gambler”.
