The Kingdom of Heaven
The conversation of the day and each day is generally how bad things are and how back things getting with little to no talk of the hope that we possess.
I am not always the cheariest person in the crowd either. My heart is grieved at times and at times I must repent from my frettting. But it is not that there is no no
Descending from the mountain the Lord sits down as to teach. One would read the Word standing and then would sit to teach.
The subject of the sermon on the Mount was The Kingdom of Heaven. It was the subject of John the Baptist, the message being
“Repent for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand.”
John taught it under the filling ministry of God the Holy Spirit testifying the truth behind every word that John spoke. And it is also the second witness as the holy spirit testifies the truth of every word spoken by Jesus.
This kingdom message is a message that is to inculcate in the hearts of the listeners that this geo-political kingdom society which is an earthly kingdom, ruled by heavenly principles is already but not yet. Already in the hearts of man that we as residence of that coming kingdom should live in the light of eternity now as we continue to anticipate its coming.
The church has lost its way since the time when it was first founded. The primary focus of the church was to build upon the very foundation of the words of Christ with Discipleship the noblest work of all.
Matthew 28:18–20 (NASB95) — 18 And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. 19 “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
I might give a list of all the wrongs of today’s church , but it can be all summed up with one thing and that is the neglect of making students.
The message itself and the aim of the Church has changed. Maybe because it started sounding silly about waiting and living for a kingdom that is not yet here.
So, we changed the message to report that the kingdom is here and now and the great commission which is not the commission is to do “Kingdom work.”
Not so.
It is to make disciples. and how many times have I heard disparaging remarks that the main function of the Church is contrary.
As a result, who do you know who actually knows what the kingdom is? How can we know if we have no teacher no preacher who makes known through the testimony of the Holy Spirit what the Kingdom of heaven truly is?
The Kingdom is a geopolitical administration that is set upon on this earth ruled by a Theocratic administer under heavenly principles.
Let’s look at a list characteristics of the Kingdom from heaven
I have taken the list from Pastor Andy Woods of Sugar Land Bible Church in Texas as he had listed them in recent prophecy Conference held at his church.
Characteristics of the Kingdom
1. Established by God
Daniel 2:44 (NASB95) — 44 “In the days of those kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom which will never be destroyed, and that kingdom will not be left for another people; it will crush and put an end to all these kingdoms, but it will itself endure forever.

It is a kingdom that is not made with hands meaning that it is not something set up by man. (Daniel 2:34-35)
2. The Kingdom is eternal
Daniel 7:27 (NASB95) — 27 ‘Then the sovereignty, the dominion and the greatness of all the kingdoms under the whole heaven will be given to the people of the saints of the Highest One; His kingdom will be an everlasting kingdom, and all the dominions will serve and obey Him.’
( Ps 145:13; Is 9:7; Dan 2:44; 4:34; 7:14; Luke 1:33; Rev 11:15; 22:5)
3. Christ’s Direct Rule
Zechariah 9:9–10 (NASB95) — 9 Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion! Shout in triumph, O daughter of Jerusalem! Behold, your king is coming to you; He is just and endowed with salvation, Humble, and mounted on a donkey, Even on a colt, the foal of a donkey. 10 I will cut off the chariot from Ephraim And the horse from Jerusalem; And the bow of war will be cut off. And He will speak peace to the nations; And His dominion will be from sea to sea, And from the River to the ends of the earth.
Ps 110:1; Is 9:6, 7; Jer 23:5, 6; Matt 21:5; John 12:15
Jesus rules as the Last Adam who was to be the Theocratic Administrator. That is the Government set up by God under a world leader, Adam, who perfectly submits to God the Father to carry out his rule to the Glory of God.
We believe in a literal Son of David, The Lord Jesus Christ who will sit upon a literal throne who takes reigns of the rulership of this world.
4. Earthly
Zech 14:9 Zechariah 14:9 (NASB95) — 9 And the Lordwill be king over all the earth; in that day the Lord will be the only one, and His name the only one.
Is 2:2–4; 45:23; Zech 9:9; 14:16, 17
5. Land promise realized
With the coming of the Kingdom from heaven every promise that was promised to Abraham will be fulfilled there will the people promise and yes Abraham’s seed is already too many to count.
Israel has been blessed.
Abraham’s name has been made great
But one thing is that Israel had never possessed the land which is promised her.
Genesis 15:18–21 (NASB95) — 18 On that day the Lord made a covenant with Abram, saying, “To your descendants I have given this land, From the river of Egypt as far as the great river, the river Euphrates: 19 the Kenite and the Kenizzite and the Kadmonite 20 and the Hittite and the Perizzite and the Rephaim 21 and the Amorite and the Canaanite and the Girgashite and the Jebusite.”

With the establishment of the Kingdom Israel will hold the real estate from Egypt probably the Nile River all the way to Euphrates. The Land which will belong to Israel will include Syria, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Iraq and Iran. It will be handed over to the Israelites by God.

Gen 17:8; Josh 21:43; Acts 7:5[1]
6. Israel’s preeminence
Isaiah 2:2–3 (NASB95) — 2 Now it will come about that In the last days The mountain of the house of the LordWill be established as the chief of the mountains, And will be raised above the hills; And all the nations will stream to it. 3 And many peoples will come and say, “Come, let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, To the house of the God of Jacob; That He may teach us concerning His ways And that we may walk in His paths.” For the law will go forth from Zion And the word of the Lord from Jerusalem.
Isaiah 49:22–23 (NASB95) — 22 Thus says the Lord God, “Behold, I will lift up My hand to the nations And set up My standard to the peoples; And they will bring your sons in their bosom, And your daughters will be carried on their shoulders. 23 “Kings will be your guardians, And their princesses your nurses. They will bow down to you with their faces to the earth And lick the dust of your feet; And you will know that I am the Lord; Those who hopefully wait for Me will not be put to shame.
Zechariah 8:23 (NASB95) — 23 “Thus says the Lord of hosts, ‘In those days ten men from all the nations will grasp the garment of a Jew, saying, “Let us go with you, for we have heard that God is with you.” ’ ”
Revelation 20:10 (NASB95) — 10 And the devil who deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are also; and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.
7. Millennial temple
It takes 6 Chapters to describe this temple which will supersede greatly the previous temples of the past.
📷
This temple will exist in the 1000 year reign of Christ but will be destroy once again with the destruction of this current heavens and earth and with the coming of the new heavens and earth there will be no temple.
Revelation 21:22–23 (NASB95) — 22 I saw no temple in it, for the Lord God the Almighty and the Lamb are its temple. 23 And the city has no need of the sun or of the moon to shine on it, for the glory of God has illumined it, and its lamp is the Lamb.
8. Millennial David
Jeremiah 30:9 (NASB95) — 9 ‘But they shall serve the Lord their God and David their king, whom I will raise up for them.
Ezekiel 34:23–24 (NASB95) — 23 “Then I will set over them one shepherd, My servant David, and he will feed them; he will feed them himself and be their shepherd. 24 “And I, the Lord, will be their God, and My servant David will be prince among them; I the Lord have spoken.
Yes, Jesus will rule over Israel and the world but here is a promise that it is David who will sit on the Throne in Jerusalem.
Ezekiel 37:24 (NASB95) — 24 “My servant David will be king over them, and they will all have one shepherd; and they will walk in My ordinances and keep My statutes and observe them.
Ever wanted to meet with and talk with King David.
How funny is it that there are those skeptics that say that David was only a Mystical Character? Well, his coming in the future he can deny that rumor himself.
You can go to Andy Wood’s website at www.SLBC.org and view the “Israel, Yesterday, today, and tomorrow’s conference” the session is “Israel and the Kingdom.” To hear that which I summarized in this lesson.
And we will continue our study on Monday listing the characteristics of the Kingdom to come.
