God is our Savior

Romans 8:31-33

Me:

The Chief of Sinner

ii. “Of whom I am chief” NKJV

b. I would often say this about myself

i. I pastored traditional churches for 30

ii. I would at the people in my church and see their blessings

iii. I would compare my life to theirs and call myself that

iv. My mother scolded me about one time

c. It is pastoring this church, that mindset has changed

i. I am a follower of Jesus

We:

The love of God

We are terrible sinners

i. We are capable of the most heinous of evils

ii. We can do things that bring shame and guilt on our lives

iii. We destroy our lives, the lives of our family

iv. We have always been like this.

v. You see it throughout the bible

Someone ask me why does God allow evil?

i. It’s the wrong question

ii. Why doesn’t God just destroy us all and start over?

iii. Here’s why

God is love

i. God has acted on our behalf

ii. It’s called redemption

iii. This is the greatest truth in all the world.

iv. God did not have to do that.

v. Understand this truth

vi. God loves every person, no matter his condition, sin, and shame.

vii. There is nothing that you have done that God cannot forgive

viii. “Therefore, believers can rest assured that nothing, absolutely nothing shall ever separate them from the plan and purpose of God.”

Romans 8:31 NLT

What shall we say about such wonderful things as these? If God is for us, who can ever be against us?

WHO?

xi. What person can?

xii. Only God is our judge

xiii. Let me prove God’s love from scripture

God:

Jesus is our savior

a. God loves us deeply

Romans 8:32 CEV

God did not keep back his own Son, but he gave him for us. If God did this, won’t he freely give us everything else?

Romans 5:8 NLT

But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.

Romans 5:6 The Living Bible

When we were utterly helpless, with no way of escape, Christ came at just the right time and died for us sinners who had no use for him.

John 3:16 NIV

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

Galatians 1:4 NCV

Jesus gave himself for our sins to free us from this evil world we live in, as God the Father planned.

Isaiah 53:6 NLT

All of us, like sheep, have strayed away. We have left God’s paths to follow our own. Yet the Lord laid on him the sins of us all.

You:

What horrible sin have you committed?

a. What shame and guilt are you carrying?

i. You may have thumbed your nose at God

ii. Maybe you don’t even believe in God

iii. God believes in you.

iv. God is pursuing a love relationship with you.

v. Your sins are forgiven

b. Satan has lied to you

i. You are worthy of God’s love

ii. God does love you despite your failures

Just Imagine:

What shall we say?

a. If God is for us?

i. Who would dare bring an accusation against us?

Romans 8:33 NLT

Who dares accuse us whom God has chosen for his own? No one—for God himself has given us right standing with himself.

We have “right standing” with God

iv. We have been justified.

v. No more shame and guilt
