The Dangers of No Preparation.
The Dangers of No Preparation.
The people of Noah’s day were warned, but did
nothing to get themselves ready for the flood (cf. 1 Pet 3:20).
No One Knows The Day Or The Hour - Son nor angels but God does. He has a day in mind!
It is idiotic for man to think that he knows the day when not even jesus or the angels know
Why is it a secret? Because god wants us to live everyday of our lives in constant preparation. If men knew when jesus is coming they would live however they want then repent right before the Lord returns.
these things are not bad necessarily but they were doing these things instead of preparing themselves for eternity. They were just living for the now.
Noah preached for 120 years trying to prepare them.
Jesus second coming will be will come quickly and when we least expect it.
be prepared because it may be today...
24:45-51
The Dangers of Delayed Preparation.
The Dangers of Delayed Preparation.
A slave has assigned work to do, but thinks his
master will be away for a long time. Because of that he puts off doing anything and
receives a horrible punishment.
We need to be prepared all the time because we do not know when it will come. Spiritually we need to be doing the same thing - constantly making sure our lives are in order in God’s eyes. That way it makes no difference when the Lord comes. We know
He is coming, so we live in constant preparation.
do not delay for you know not when the thief comes 1 Thess. 5:2 “For you yourselves know full well that the day of the Lord will come just like a thief in the night.”
2 Pet. 3:10 “But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, in which the heavens will pass away with a roar and the elements will be destroyed with intense heat, and the earth and its works will be burned up.”
What slave are we like?
Are we faithful and sensible?
Faithful - fulfilled his duties
sensible - planned everything out, not flying by the seat of his pants, not goofing off
I think that is the problem with most Christians. We have no plan. There is nothing that I am trying to do day in and day out, I call it fly by the seat of my pants Christianity no preparation, no plan.
blessed if we are doing what we are supposed too and...
and will cut him in pieces and assign him a place with the hypocrites; in that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
25:1-13
The Dangers of Partial Preparation.
The Dangers of Partial Preparation.
Five virgins did prepare - up to a point, but not well
enough.
i think this is a great parable as I think it represents those in the church some will be prepared and some will not.
these maidens were foolish because they did not take any extra supply to last the length of the time.
the prudent to a flask. they thought ahead and prepped for the possibility.
each one of us is responsible for our own preparation. No one can prepare for you. You can’t ride on the faith of your parents, your spouse, your friends.
Be fully prepared
25:14-30
Examples of Proper and Improper Preparation.
Examples of Proper and Improper Preparation.
Three men are given talents to care for.
Two made proper preparations and one did not.
You can’t be sitting around doing nothing
Are we using our time and talents while waiting for the Lord
I want you to notice that the text says immediately the five talent man went a did something with those talents. two immediately went to work while one was lazy and went and buried it.
the good and the faithful don’t wait to prepare, they go immediately and prepare, they don’t partially prepare the fully invest.
the wicked lazy slave does not prepare, delays preparation, partial prepares, and doesn’t work no.
Gal. 6:7 “Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, this he will also reap.”
you sow laziness (unproductive) then you will not receive the blessing.
note he was not judged on what he was given but what he did with what was given.
For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may be recompensed for his deeds in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad.
******25:31-41
The Result of One’s Preparation. Reward or punishment will be the result of one’s preparation.
2 Thess. 1:7 “and to give relief to you who are afflicted and to us as well when the Lord Jesus will be revealed from heaven with His mighty angels in flaming fire,”
When he comes he will separate the sheep from the goats (dragnet Mt. 13:47-48; wheat & tares Mt. 13:30)
They are in the favored position because the Father has witnessed their life, devotion, their commitment

There are many who claim to be righteous, spiritual people but they do not give to
others. But if Jesus were here you can be sure they would be giving to Him. Most of us
do not have a lot of material goods or money, but the little that we have would probably
be given cheerfully to Jesus if He came to live with us. Jesus is saying that serving
others is the same as serving Him.
eternal punishment vs. eternal life
What can I do to be ready?
Ask yourself the question every morning, “what if Jesus comes today”?
