Introduction
https://www.theologyofwork.org/resources/what-does-the-bible-say-about-work
Work is part of God’s plan for humanity.
You know it's easy to look at the Bible and see passages like the one where God curses the ground and causes thorns to come up.
We see the place where God says to Adam you will fight with the ground essentially and sweat and toiled to work period we see work in that passage and we think that it may be that all of work has been irreparably cursed.
And so that logic can carry forward into our life to the extent that we tolerate work only to the end that it helps us provide.
We tolerate work only to the end that it helps us survive.
We tolerate work only to the end that we can get to the weekend.
But what I want to show you first today is that work was part of God's plan from the very beginning.
And while this hopefully is not a surprise to most of you it should be an encourageing reminder for each of us as we undertake the work God has for us.
So let's all take a look at genesis chapter one and chapter two period and in these pages we will see the beginning.
Of course beginning is kind of what genesis means.
OK, let's take a look at genesis chapter one.
And the first thing I wanted to say today throughout this passage is that work is part of God's plan from the very beginning.
Genesis 1-2.
God cares about our work both now and in eternity.
God has created us with unique gifts and skills we can use to do our work with.
The foundation of our work must be quality, strong character, and a God-directed sense of ethics.
We are responsible for how we do the work God leads us too.
God determines the true outcome of our work.
Our work is yoked to Christ’s work.
Conclusion
Christianity changed the world with a revolutionary message and no political power.
What could we do if we lived and worked out the Gospel in the world today?
