Luke 10:38-42

Mary was sitting at Jesus’ feet listening to His words (39)
Martha was “distracted” with her preparations (40)
distracted, to draw from around, instead of being drawn to
“Lord, you do not care” - Believing a Lie
“Sister left me to do all the serving alone” - Attacking others
has left gives the impression Mary did serve
“Tell her to help me” - wrong about the solution
Jesus’ response
Martha, you are
anxious, be anxious for nothing,
bothered, turmoil - cast all your cares on Him
Mary has chosen that good part that cannot be taken away

Mary doesn’t even go to Jesus until He calls for her (28)
Mary acts like Martha the first time (32-33)
Jesus still works in their lives with/without their faith (40-45)
Jesus uses the hard times to draw us to Himself and the Father
Martha goes back to serving ( John 12:2)
Mary pours the perfume on Jesus’ feet
Jesus stands up for Mary (vs 7)
